I was just wondering are we all guilty of this at some point in our lives? Have you ever been proven wrong when you have claimed something or are your "judgments" been right? Also have you thought any less of someone because they stereotype with certain things? |

I've often changed my opinions on things from reading and learning new things on here. I'm happy to hold my hand up when I'm wrong. Not so much if I think I'm right though.

Same here. Although if I think I am still right. I am stubborn and won't back down. Not sure if its a good or bad thing, but when I say "All ......." are ...." I am never wrong. Well people may say they aren't like that, but all the ones I come across are. |

We all judge, anyone saying different is living in cloud cuckoo land.
Readily putting your hands and admitting you got it wrong is the sign of true maturity.
Read these forums for classic examples of both well balanced and dogmatic, dead easy to spot |

I have been strongly criticised for my judgments and yet. I haven't been proven wrong . If someone said that person isn't like that and I knew they were right. I would back down and say there is an exception and the more that happens. I will say its the majority/minority, etc.
Would like examples though to see where its except able |

"Also have you thought any less of someone because they stereotype with certain things? "
I skipped this bit.
Not less. I have a friend who is rather outspoken about certain subjects that are not really - shall we say factually sustained. Mostly based on heresay and highly biased tabloids. I care a lot about her, but will not enter into discussion with her. I value her friendship. |

I know someone like that too. I just smile and try to change the subject. |

We all know people like that and it is without doubt to our credit that because we value them as friends we act as we do.
I have absolutely no doubt that others do the same with me and I love them for it |

That made me laugh. My friends aren't so subtle with me, they just look at me weird and walk off. |

I use to stereotype when I was younger.
I worked at a place and this guy just looked like a typical knob head that i thought straight away id hate. We had to work together and we literally loved the same movies, tv series, games and just spoke for hours. Just because someone might like different music and dress different to you, doesnt mean you won't get on.
I hate on dating sites or in person how people say i'll only date emo's etc So if i change my appearance, you'll give me a chance and not base dating me for my personality.
Anyone whoever asks me what I am, punk, goth, emo, townie, chav, etc I always tell them I'm ME |
