Difflam spray or gargle from the chemist. If you arent allergic take ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation too. If no better in 36 hrs get some antibiotics.

Dequacaine lozenges are the best to use too. Use them for mouth ulcers etc also.

And good old salt water. Warm.

Honey is brilliant for sore throats....either have a teaspoon every now and then or have it in hot water with some lemon and a bit of sugar

I've always struggled with bad throats - the best thing I've always found to help with the pain (although wont clear the infection) is ibuprofen, and as others have said above gargling with aspirin & honey in warm water.

Also gargling with salt water helps, and will help with clearing the infection, tastes yucky though!

Hope you feel better soon xx

Vitamin C and D tablets to boost the immune system. Also take one spoon of cinnamon and an equal spoon of honey mixed in a mug of boiled water and sip. Take for minimum 3 days...worked for me..

"Gargle with a dispersable asprin"

Dissolvable - then it will disperse in your body faster.

Any of the suggestions with warm water are good but an added benefit is to thoroughly dilute a spoonful of salt in there too. Wont taste nice (honey can take the edge off) but it's really good! This is for gargling though.. DO NOT SWALLOW!

Do not try all of them at once or you will overdose

I have had one for two days now and a banging headache. Ibuprofen, spoonfuls of honey and loads of orange juice. Hopefully will be over the worst tomorrow,
