What is this damn thing, how do I get rid of it?? I've deleted any program I can find listed in 'add/remove' and changed all the Chrome settings as instructed - but still the bloody thing is there every time I open the browser?? |

"download ccleaner and use that to uninstall it, also try firefox instead of crome, faster and less bloated"
I switched to chrome recently 'cos firefox had become slow and bloated. I think it's just whatever you use for a long time gets stewed up eventually..........?
Scanning as we speak, thanks guys...... |

"Check your google chrome settings / extensions, it maybe installed there hence why its not going, if so uninstall and delete from chrome. "
Also reset your chrome settings to make google your default search engine |

Its adware that has installed into your browser so scanning with malware etc most likely wont return anything and even so wont remove it from your browser.
First uninstall it from your computer ( control panel uninstall program )
Then you need to go to your browser and uninstall it from there, for chrome it will be under extensions so hit the recycle button next to it and delete it. Then go to settings in chrome and change your home page back to google.
I suggest clearing your cache after or using Ccleaner to clear your registry and history and then do a restart.
That should do the trick |

Oh and one other tip lol..... Always read everything when installing software as these companies are very clever at fooling you to install their adware so make sure you tick/untick as required to NOT install any 3rd party software |

OK, this time I had not installed any software lately or ticked anything inadvertently - it just appeared.
No prog was showing to uninstall like last time.
Ccleaner did not get it at all.
Malwarebytes found 5 files on the full scan (nothing on the quick scan recommended), but the winner was Spybot search and Destroy finding 7 files!!
That got rid of sweetpacks and ANOTHER product obviously from the same stable immediately sprang up in it's place!!
BUT, then I found a 'sweetpacks enable' extension checked under chrome 'settings' 'extensions' and when I deleted THAT it was finally all gone.
What a pain! |

When you're downloading programmes/software, always opt for the 'custom' download/instal.
That way you'll see what else is going to be downloaded/installed and have the option to untick it. |
