The advent of the Anglo-Saxons on our shores. It is such a blank historically. We have few sources and these are a touch suspect, so I'd like to arrive with a notebook, a box of sarnies, my mascara and a stool to sit on. |

Its always a bit of a paradox when talking about time machines isn't it?
I mean, say you go back in time to give yourself the winning lottery numbers - it wouldn't work because this means you'd have already won the lottery and thus the version of yourself who went back in time with the winning numbers would never have existed?
...unless of course the version that won the lottery did so because themselves from the future came back in time with the winning numbers thus allowing them to win the jackpot which they then invested in developing a time machine so they could go back in time and give themselves the winning numbers with which to win the lottery and generate the necessary funds required to fund the research into time travel or something. |

Tough one, it would be two options
1. Stopping Ian going out on his motorbike, before him having his accident.
2. My dad in hospital before he died to tell him that I love him very much.
Too hard to choose. |

I`d like to go back to the early 1950`s. I`m a railway enthusiast and I`d love to travel over some of the lines that were axed by Beeching and his pal Mr. Marples of Maples Ridgeway road building. I`d not only be looking at the "crack" expresses but all of the goods services that are now carried by road. I`d also love to spend some time with some of the characters who worked on the railway and there were a good few of them! |

In the 1st century AD, Heron of Alexandria created the aeolipile, a basic steam engine. Using the technology he created 'automated' doors for an Apollian temple, but little else. I would have explained to Heron what a steam engine could be used for. If history had then developed as it did but with a, say 1500 years headstart on the Industrial Revolution, then we might be in other star systems now rather than stuck in this one.
I might have said to the Captain of the Titanic 'can we wait 20 mins or so?'
I might have pushed Hitler under a trolley bus in Vienna.

Would not change a thing. Good, bad or other.
Every experience we have had, has made us who we are.
No regrets.
Be judged on the number of times you got back up after being knocked down.
(Not trying to make this a serious thread)
Maybe I'd have said yes instead of no when asked!

".....at what point would you go back to and change if you could?
Can be anything! Sexual, embarrassing etc....
Just a lighthearted thread I thought I'd start x"
I would make sure I didn't go to my comprehensive and made sure I chose the right job when it came to work experience. |

I would go back to 1987 when I had my hysterectomy (aged 27) and make sure I didn't eat crap to get over my 'loss' of not having more kids. (I put on 5 stones)
Then I might not have spent aged 35 to now trying to lose weight. Have finally managed to lose 3 1/2 stones in last 19 weeks

hhmmmm so many mistakes, but then from those mistakes good things have come My last 2 relationships - both ended messy but the first gave me my lovely boys, and the second introduced me to this lifestyle.
I guess I would have stuck it at college both times?

I'd go back somewhere to the mid-60s. Love the music and TV programmes from that era, and wasn't old enough to remember it, so I'd love to know how good it was. |

Being an actual owner of a time machine I can tell you now, no good will come from meddling with timelines.
However I did take the liberty of travelling back to 1800's Holland where I killed Charles Lucien Bonaparte who is the inventor of the green house, that bastard was killing us with his gasses.
You may have noticed there is no talk of a hole in the Ozone layer anymore?
You're welcome! |

Im making two trips. One trip to go back and go with my eldest and partner to hospital and while he sat with her would have ripped the place apart while i found a midwife and my grandson wouldnt have died. My other trip would be the day my wife noticed a breast abnormality. I would have dragged her to the doctor and she might still be with me. |

Being greedy again 2 wishes. Go back to when I was 14 and tell myself not to go outside when a mate was playing with an air pistol, then I would have passed the medical for the navy.
Other time when I was 16, to tell myself not to be so shy then I might have gotten the girl when the clock struck midnight one new years eve.
