There will be other people there just as nervous as you. You'll soon make new friends and be enjoying it before you know it. Enjoy it! x

Everyone else will be feeling the same. My advice is to arrive early enough to park and find the classroom, take notebook and pen, small change for a drink at break time and say hello to every person who walks into the room, speak to the people who sit next to you and enjoy it. What course are you doing?

I hope you thoroughly enjoy it. Good luck.

First days can be great: a whole new part of your life just waiting to begin!

Remember that you'll have something in common with everyone there since it's college so you'll all be studying the same subject by choice.

I was going to wish you good luck but I don't think you'll need it so I'll just say enjoy.

This is all true, education of any kind is a wonderful thing. As a lecturer once told me "be a sponge and let my knowledge wash over you:

The best thing will be new friends. I'm a little jealous and hope it goes well. I'm sure it will.

thanks for the advice, notebook and pen already in my bag, lol and when I'm nervous my big mouth goes into overdrive and I don't shut up, so by the end of the evening everyone will know my name lol

i'm doing my level 1 in British sign language but have to complete an introductory course first as this is part of the course. I will be ok, once I'm there, just the waiting for it that's making me nervous.

As with all the quotes above you be fine.

I work for a University and all the first years are arriving all feeling like you.

Once you get in to it you really enjoy it and do really well

Keep smiling

You will be fine once there. A new venture makes most of us feel nervous but once there you will relax.

I did it last year and I was worried I'd be the oldest there. Thankfully I wasn't and people from all walks of life enjoying going on courses.

Have a great time

actually all that above is not true but it should have made you smile ... and just remember as long as I am not in the same room, normality should reign ... have a really good time and enjoy ... and don't forget to learn something too - good luck

Turn up with some love eggs inserted. You won't be feeling nervous and if you get energetic in signing, you may end up adding a few words to their lexicon....

Failing that, have an early tea, get there, have a great time.

Arrive naked, and you will get loads of attention that will put you at ease immediately.

Failing that, remember that things are almost never as bad as we fear.
