I was wondering when it came to getting grants for home improvements. Whether its decorating, fixing or replacing things. What is the maximum a family can earn before they say "You're not entitled to it"? Do they count homeowners or all adults who live under that roof when they make their decision? Are all companies the same or are some more lenient? Any reliable companies about who replace/fix things for free, give grants out, etc?

Not sure what sort of answer to expect here

Thats a real can of worms but I do know some grants are more council or location and property type based.

There used to be a 'Social Fund' which was an interest free loan system, for people on a low income (working or unemployed) but that got scrapped.

Best way to afford something without high interest repayments is to save up. Not much help I know, but it's how I have to do things.

I know about that, I'm still not ready to apply for a blue badge, nor the benefit you get for being registered disabled ....

If I can see someone's health/safety is or can be seriously affected. Pride goes out the window and common sense comes into play. But I would rather walk or use public transport than get a blue badge to say that I'm disabled.

Sadly that wasn't the case
