Mostly, and then there is the occasional bitter twisted woman who has more illnesses and personal problems than the entire waiting room combined and cannot wait to compare herself. I like her the most, I don't smile and try to act less sick around her LOL |

had to phone my docs for the results of a test, and she said she liked my last name (its a foreign one) we then proceeded to share a bit of a flirty laugh about he comparative complications of spelling my name and what bug had caused my food poisoning.
my old dear is always down there, so they kind of know the family now. they are great. |

In my local health centre, some are helpful some are just downright officious ( if that's how you spell it.)
When I phone I always ask for the receptionists name, and will complain if I don't receive accurate help. |

"Downright rude and nosey ours. Very bad phone manner and always enquire what the problem is when that's for the doctor to know not them. They get all snotty when you don't tell them lol."
This really gets my goat. Of course it's their business, it's their JOB. Doctors specialise in certain medicines/illnesses - they could be instrumental in getting you in to one who could help you first time, rather than having to have several visits.
Self righteousness and inflated self importance from patients is the problem, not the receptionists.

I get mixed responses from mine. Sometimes they are quite relaxed and friendly and other times I'm made to feel as though I shouldn't be calling them.
I can understand why they ask what your problem is as there are so many people that go to the doctors for a cold etc however you do not have to answer this question. I generally rather not talk about the issues I'm going to see the doctor about with the receptionists so I simply say my matter is personal and I only wish to talk to my doctor about it. |

They are ok.. always busy never difficult or rude. I am quite happy with my surgery actually I rarely have to wait more than a day or two for appointment. Always have room for an emergency one on the day.
Not like some friends who have to wait a week for emergency appointment grrr |

More worryingly the doctor at the GP I need to transfer to is a stuck up uncaring sarcastic twat.
Might keep to my old on and travel 20 mins when I need to see them. |

have 4 and they are all lovely and will do anything to help me, including getting prescriptions for me when I'm to poorly to see my nurse. They do some running around after me! I've gotta be a patient from hell with my health! |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
Mine roared with laughter when I turned up 24 1/2 hours late for a fasting blood test! They made a quick check with the "vampire" and got me in to have it done! |
