"It keeps unemployed youths off the street."
Really ?
I find it remarkable that our youth are always singled out
One minute they are out on the streets mugging old people and generally making a nuisance
And the next they are indoors watching daytime tv
Sorry I don't agree |

It's nowadays purely commercial, to attract advertising and market targeting. You have your part time workers, night shift workers, retired folks, students and unemployed people at home that are likely to watch tv, so advertisers pay hundred of thousands of pounds in the hopes that people will tune in and notice their commercials, and so in turn, commercial broadcasting stations use this to fund their media. That's also why daytime television is full of repeat shows from the last four decades. |

Last time I briefly watched my TV was Christmas Day and that was only because my parents were watching it ... 10 minutes of that was all I needed! |

TV in general is to sell something, it could be a product, a lifestyle, or a message from the people who control our lives, usually about getting people to conform, get married and become a cog in the wheel.
TV is used to brainwash us, create greed and get people into debt.
The two things that control us are money and family.
TV is used to fill our time in, so that we don't think too much.
Get rid of your TV or TV's and all of a sudden your life will become better,
family life will get better,
crime will drop,
debt will drop,
communities will get stronger,
Also you will start using your eyes and actually see things for the first time, a bird, a fox, a butterfly.
If you have children, their life, outlook and future will be amazing.
But of course, you wont get rid of the TV, its easy, cheap and addictive.
Probably more addictive than fags, booze or drugs.

All hail daytime tv: I love it! Will miss it when I return to work next week.
Rip off Britain, Judge Judy, Under Cover Boss USA, Homes Under the Hammer, Forensic Detectives et al...I love it. It's kept me amused the last few months I've been off work on sick leave!
I'll have a phased return to work covering three months, so I'll be able to wean myself off slowly.
I think some people should watch more daytime tv: they might learn something. May I suggest Ceebeebies! |

To 'encourage' people to play 'text this number' so called competitions, to raise money to pay third rate celebs to plug their latest book/ record/ play while being interviewed by media created monsters.
My solution? Don't go for a haircut in the morning. Afternoon telly is shite too but not quite as bad as morning tv. |
