"... steeling from hotels.
Bet there are some worried feckers out there now
i only ever take the toiletries, but I thought everyone did that anyway "
I do but our guests don't ???
We have run our little guest house for 10 years (barring a 2 year gap when I lived in Switzerland, I can openly mention it now because I am selling up and moving to Wales so can't be accused of using the forums to advertise)
In all our rooms we have
Shower Gel
Shampoo
Body Oil
Soaps
Shoe Cleaning Kit
Toothbrushes
Sewing Kit
(no Gideons bibles here)
The Tea/Coffee/drinking chocolate (various flavours)/white sugar/milk/brown sugar/biscuit satchets
Nobody ever takes them, some use them and the "empties" are left in the room but the rooms are never emptied of the "goodies"
We wouldn't care if they did, we get everything in bulk from the 'cash n carry' or a Hotel Catering company in Devon.
First thing I do when I stay at a hotel is pinch the lot, and if I can raid the "housekeeping trolley" when it's left outside rooms all the better.
Isn't it sad that I am not as honest as my guests |

I do make a point of using the tea/coffe left in my room but if I don't use all of what's supplied I hide them so that the maids leave a fresh supply. I pinch the brown sugar sachets as well even though I don't use them. Siren's father only uses brown sugar and the amount of times we've bought a bag of it for just him and then it hardens by the time he comes over again, so now we just give him the sachets as and when he wants them. Got a veritable Aladdin's Cave of goodies in my overnight bag now lol |
