I actually prefer boxing as a spectator sport, but I have watched the TV series " Human weapon " it follows a pro MMA fighter and an ex American footballer round the world learing new martial arts techniques culminating in a proper contest with an expert in that particular field, very interesting.

on a more serious note, I tried judo, karate, ju-jitsu, kick boxing, thai boxing and was rather good at all, my instructors wanted me to take it more serious, but the problem was, although I liked it very much I just couldn't take it so seriously as all I could think of then was my girlfriends waiting for me to finish outside, women eh.

I started up cause I was looking for something my son could do, then got asked to join myself by one of the other parents who wanted to start, needless to say she has now stopped coming, but I love it, nothing better than sweating it out for two hours, learning some new skill and making new friends

i am very much. been doing a bit of muay thai training with a mate of mine recently. looking forward to UFC 110 tomorrow. im out tomorrow night, but hopefully will be back for it.

looking forward to wanderlei vs bisping. want bisping to win, but cant see past wanderlei taking him apart.

nogueira vs velasquez should be a great fight too. my mates putting money on nogueira for 2nd round submission, but i still see velasquez winning this one.

like to watch a fight and did boxing for a while , not sure about the ufc , for me i prefer some sort of structure some sort of rules appreciate the skills involved in it , would def get back in the ring was a good laugh with some great people , never watched karate or any martial art for that matter , except maybe judo in the olympics but dont really understand it lol

to be fair, if you think theres no structure or rules, then you dont understand it. thats not having a go, because i used to be the same.

i find boxing really boring because boxers can remain champion of their weight class for years by ducking fights. you also get fighters like mayweather who are all about not getting hit and hardly ever knock anyone out (barring ricky hatton). in the ufc you cant dodge fithts, and you dont stand a chance if you try to win fights by not getting hit and just 'out boxing' someone.

Its also funny to see returning ;legends' like Tank Abbot come back after being away for years and think they can use the one trick they had in the first place and expect to be a hero and just end up missing with the first punch and getting whupped in 30 seconds!

was like mark coleman vs randy cotoure the other week. couture is past his best by a long way now, but hes still been fighting in the ufc, whereas coleman has been missing for ages and thought he could come back and take on couture. did anyone watch that? its weird looking at coleman now compared to what he was like when he was in pride juiced up to his eyeballs

Ditto same here my son started to do a Martial art then I started and I have made some good friends. I now do 2 very different martial arts. I am female and not violent person but I love learning to do my Martial arts and my ability and confidence has grown both physicaly and mentaly since I started.

lol yeah think yuor right maybe its my ignorance i dont know lol think my view is boxing is as much a mental fight as it is a physical one , would try that whole boxing chess thing but to be honest after being knocked about the noggin for a bit i very much doubt ill be any good lol , are there any scottish fighters in the ufc ? are there rules etc ? my understanding is two guys get in there do the business and one wins lol

well bascially its mixed martial arts. so its a combination of striking, grappling, submissions etc. you cant knee to the head while the opponent is down and you cant headbutt etc (although you did used to be able to do both of these things in pride).

I seem to remember seeing some UFC when I was a bit younger and I remember one fight where a guy had long hair and all the opponent did was grab hold of it and not let go for the whole fight and he had total control (no getting ideas ladies!!!). This was in the day when they had several fights in the same day and you'd have thought the guy would've gone out and cut it off but no, he came back for the next bout, same thing happened again!! D'oh!!

We love MMA,hope Mariousz Pudzianowski continues in the sport.

Would like to see him in the UFC if he does well in KSW,which hopefuly he will.

Now there would be a force to be reckoned with.

We're also looking forward to Brock Lesnar getting back to health, loved seeing him give that gobshite Mir a good hiding.
