Not all clubs are towels only.
One of the reasons I love going to Vanilla Alternative is that it's like a country pub with sofas and a bar, a bit of younger pub with the music and pole at the other end and if you want to strip off and play then that is beyond the pub bit. Plus I get to dress up in a frock and heels. I don't strut around in a towel.

"As lovely an idea as it seems there have been some horror stories from previously organised events outside of swinging venues"
That would be my worry. Any hint that it's a bunch of people who engage in sex with others and venues panic.
If it's a works do where everyone gets d*unk, acts foolishly and then spends all night shagging from room to room it seems to ok.
We'd need to make it a sales conference type thing to get past the censors. |

"then lets all behave have a good night and behave our selves "
It's not about misbehaving. There are stories of events being cancelled last minute because the press have found out about them (easy enough if they just read the forum) and hotels panicking after accepting the booking. No hanky panky, let alone a bit of inebriated snogging had even taken place at that point.

"I was thinking more of the opportunity for everyone to meet each other than the sex side"
I know. I think the ball in Scotland last year was only going to be social too but it was cancelled.
I think it's a good idea but it's not entirely simple.

"What about renting a large barn and having a barn dance...
Everyone brings some food and a drink and get someone to do the music.
yeehawwwww "
I like this idea. As long as it's somewhere with hotels nearby and good motorway connections. It probably needs to be in the North Midlands/low North like Manchesterish to allow for the Scottish to come down and the rest of the world to come from all other points.

"google weetwood hall leeds see what you think to that
Might be best not to name the place on the forum? Isn't that why the Scottish Ball event fell through?
No, the Ball venue was never publicly named. Some sad fucker paid their deposit and received details privately and maliciously phoned the hotel asking if they provided condoms for the swingers ball that was being held."
That sucks. |

Yep, a lot of people went to a lot of expense for that one night only for it to be ruined and subsequently splashed all over the papers.
However, we did get the last laugh, as a last minute "Non Ball Ball" was arranged and can honestly say it was one of the best social nights I have attended. |

We organised a ball with rooms at our local Village Hotel. The more rooms you book, the more discount you get. Its got a health club for people staying over, jacuzzi, sauna swimming pool, and function rooms, they can provide the room the food, or there is a pub bar and a restaurant.
I assume all the Villages are the same.
Dudley is quite laid back, but I cant see their events coordinator providing condoms |

Not volunteering, wrong end of the country and all, but if you avoid Christmas and New Year, an out of season seaside hotel would be keen to do business.
If there was sufficient demand you could have the whole hotel to yourselves, with bars and function rooms thrown in.
Good idea but would need a dedicated committee.
Forget Forum Challenges using avatars, I can see a themed fancy dress comp with judging panel!
Shame we couldn't pretend to be sex therapists having a conference LoveHuny and others would pay for sales areas I'm sure. |

Its not an easy task, money will need to be paid as deposits, paypal accounts will be needed, people are notoriously bad at commitimg to anything or then changing their minds
Its a truly massive undertaking and unless you're willing to put hrs of time and effort into putting it all together then it will fall apart at the seams, its not like organising a works night out
Seriously think long and hard especially learn from what happened at the glasgow ball,if the press or the venue get any sort of inkling of a sex scandal the whole night will be ruined and you can't trust that people will keep their mouths closed
Not everyone is as open minded as you may think even on here |
