"Eve, report it stolen to the polis, get a crime number, then report it to your phone company. If it's insured then it should be replaced x"
This may work if you haven't already tried to claim for losing it.
Why will they not replace the phone for you, or pay out?
I'm guessing your insurance is not with the phone company. |

probably too late to mention but both my wife and myself have not long traded our iPhones in for the new 3GS version, we sold the phones and bought an Xbox 360 with the money for our son. Very valuable they are, ours are under the home contents insurance, could you go down that avenue to claim? |

well probably should tell the whole story - had insurance with my bank but never actually registered it.
lost it in November then registered it with the insurance after the event but the insurance found out that i blocked it in November
oh well - expensive lesson learnt i guess |

Get one on contract, and get it insured by the provider.

ah, not a business contract by any chance?.
Only, Ms Rooney has one on a business deal, 2 year contract, and can upgrade after 12 month, at no extra cost too, so she can get a new iphone if she so chooses to do. |
