I used to love the old black and white horrors, Bela Lugosi Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney jr. I enjoyed the Hammer horror kitsch as well but the modern cgi scenes tend to bore me.
The turning point for me was the Friday the 13th and freddie Kruger series where the terror and anticipation started to give way to a gore fest.
