Today/tomorrow I am moving across the country all on my own, albeit removals company doing the heavy stuff! Hints and tips for a smooth move anyone? Thank you

Label all boxes with which rooms they need to go into.

Hanging boxes for clothes if you have a lot are worth the investment - unpacking and putting back on hangers is a pain in the arse!

Keep a pack up and the kettle with tea and coffeeand biccies and some mugs in a box in your car - British workmen work much happier when plied with tea and hob nobs and when you've been unpacking for ages and suddenly remember you haven't eaten a sarnie is a godsend.

Make sure you that you keep the kettle, cups etc in your car ready to use at your new place.

Make sure U keep your valuables and important docs safe...

Decamp them to a friend.

Take achange of clothes and pjs with to save unpacking....
