It's happened again ...

It can only happen to me and does every time .....................
New three piece was coming today ....... had phonecall to advise it would be here between 1 pm and 6 pm ........... so gaily got on with sawing the other one into three .................... on the first trip to the tip I get a phonecall ... can't deliver today the truck has developed a fault .................... errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I don't have anything to sit on ............... "we can deliver wednesday" ......... WEDNESDAY says me... what happened to tomorrow ................. errrrrrrrrr let me check she said ........ to come back and say ............ yes we can fit you in tomorrow .......... when will u be in ............. well after lunch says I ............ we will try to deliver in the afternoon but it might be the morning ??? confused.com here lol
why oh why do deliveries never happen at this house on time .......??

Not REALLY acceptable in my books. Sometimes people take a day off to accept a delivery and when that gets rescheduled it means they lost a day holiday - never mind the inconvenience.

Last year I ordered some new furniture for home delivery. An easy chair (how apt) and a couple of bookcases. Only about £200 worth. Had to take a days unpaid hol to accept delivery as they would only say between 8-6.
Sat about the house all day and nothing arrived. Phoned them to enquire why and they said the driver had tried to deliver but no-one was home. So after arguing the toss as they either outright lied or tried to deliver to the wrong address (but they had my phone number to call and check), I said I couldn't afford to lose another days pay and cancelled the order, got a refund and a cancellation number too.
The following evening at 5:45 the stuff arrived. Never had a bill for it. |

"Last year I ordered some new furniture for home delivery. An easy chair (how apt) and a couple of bookcases. Only about £200 worth. Had to take a days unpaid hol to accept delivery as they would only say between 8-6.
Sat about the house all day and nothing arrived. Phoned them to enquire why and they said the driver had tried to deliver but no-one was home. So after arguing the toss as they either outright lied or tried to deliver to the wrong address (but they had my phone number to call and check), I said I couldn't afford to lose another days pay and cancelled the order, got a refund and a cancellation number too.
The following evening at 5:45 the stuff arrived. Never had a bill for it. "
I had a similar event occur a few years ago when I ordered new furniture for our business but the delivery failed to show up in the allocated time period.
When I called the company to complain, they tried to fob me off with the excuse that the driver had tried to deliver at a specific time but couldn't find anyone to sign for it, so he'd to go away. I would now be charged for a second delivery attempt!
So, I called their bluff and replied that I'd looked at the site CCTV system, which included the access road outside our premises. It clearly showed their liveried delivery vehicle driving up to our Security controlled gates but veered off onto the main road and away he went!
They didn't believe me until their Chairman got a CD copy of the driver's actions with a stinking letter of complaint. Strangely enough, our business got its delivery accompanied by a hefty discount! |
