Can your employer see if you are on here or other adult sites, through your 'own' phone?
Can they find out who it is?
Can they see your profile/logon details?
I can log onto works wifi as i know the passkey...
Cheers |

they have a record of your mac. address. they can theoretically see each and every thing you do and depending on the size of the company they can keep records or request through their IP all hits on the net from each individual user. i can point you to specific sites that detail how you can surf anon. start with torrentfreak if you want more information |

depends on how secure the wifi is. I use our office's guest wifi which is completely open and unmonitored. if using your phone they can only see its mac addr and the sites being accessed. |

I never ever use works wifi. Most, if not all, places have some kind of firewall and, even if you could access the site, it will leave a trail. Not worth risking. |

"Yes
Yes
Oh and yes
Don't do it
this is correct
"
The above is correct - but it would depend on their network, and how they manage/record usage.
For example, a side street garage may just have a wireless connection..
OR
an large office may have access but everything is recorded and stored centrally on their network of servers etc

Cos I've already done all this beofre asking questions doh |

"So many different and conflicting responses... But who's right ha? I would use my 3G but reception is baaaaaad, so only get a • thingy... Slow! "
Sorry but going to bore the shit out of you now.
Most businesses will at the very least be able to see what sites are being used by their wifi as its a closed network.
Again if its a closed network and your not supposed to have the pass key. That's another naughty tick
Depending on the size type of business will determine what type of CompSy they have which could vastly change what they can access.
Do they have their own It department.
At the very least it would be easy to monitor and find a pattern to what is going on. |

Just don't do it! Get on with the work they pay you to do. I only ever pop on here during break or lunch - my own time - if I have the time. And then I use my data never wifi. |

Theres wifi technology in use NOW that can tell what make handset you have, what you access, how long you spent on it and can actually restrict the connections on the fly.
Costa for instance, their wifi can measure footfall from passing mobile users even if they don't connect.
It's amazing technology now and slightly more than just a wifi key. |

They can.
Hell, i can tell all sorts of details of the devices i have connected to my wifi at home, let alone the devices that TRY and connect.
If the company has someone even remotely tech savvy, they can get that data relatively easily. |

"Thats what am sayin?"
What are you saying?
I never asked my IT people for a breakdown of who and what devices as I was just interested to know where traffic was going and whether I had a problem to deal with in the organisation.
Others have answered in a more techy way above. If you're not sure, just don't do it.

They can trace you.
They can also identify your login email.
They can also identify exactly what time you logged in and from where.
So..they're gonna know what a perv you are and exactly what you've been up to logging into fabswingers.com in work. |

If its their internet connection and they have a server you log on through then fairly easily and they can track it down to a specific device although they may not know who owns it. It all depends on how much money they throw at it or how big the company is and its policies. I would say that many who are competent block adult sites though. |

I know a little about this but by no means an expert but for example I log onto my works wifi using my personal phone. Granted they will then have the MAC address of my phone and see they sites I logged into. But how can they pinpoint that it's me?
How can they identify the MAC address of my phone if I done give it to them? |

They could observe people and narrow it down but they couldn't be 100% sure. Why anyone would want to risk unemployment when most phones come with a data package beats me. |

They get more than just your mac address. Don't do it people as a) it could mean the sack and b) it could be highly embarrassing for you |

If they decide to get suspicious and record the ethernet traffic for later decoding it is possible to see what was typed and even reconstitute individual messages!!
I know.... i used to do it for a while when working for a telecomms company
See data general network monitor in a google search for more info

I do the delete history/cookies etc. is there anyway they could see I have been on Gab? |

I advise anyone thinking of using work equipment or resources for any personal use just not to do it. I found out someone at work had been applying for jobs on our laptop and in our time just after she resigned. If I had found out before her resignation I would have had words with her in a more serious fashion than the "disappointed with you" conversation I did have.
Work lap top for Fab is a no no. |

"Does this mean if I use a friend's wifi they can access the same info?"
For as long as you are connected to their wifi, they can access the router/ modem, and see what your device has been doing in terms of connections made.
Some allow you to dig deeper to see exactly what IP addresses have been connected to or what portals were used for connections.
It is then a simple matter of determining what number lead to what site. |

My H is an IT manager and says this is indeed the case. They block access to many websites such as twitter and facebook now but if you used the wifi to get onto here, if it came to his attention he would get networks to find out who what when etc.
It's the company network and not for accessing swinging sites.

"Well shit! Lol
There are some good cleaners about a free one is cc cleaner although it only superficially removes stuff from casual investigation."
CCleaner would be a bit 'after the horse has bolted', the MAC address and sites visited are already logged on the work servers...probably |

A friend lives right next to devonport dockyard and cancelled their internet contract as you can just join the dockyards wifi network without even needing a password... |

It's easy, they walk into a crowded office and say "Who's the pervert on the swinging site" and look for the one who turns red
I know someone that happened to on a BDSM site lol |
