What’s your definition of a “Lover”?

In the old days a lover would be an extramarital sexual partner.
I use it when I think of someone who has moved beyond just a sexual meet and with whom I have 'made love'. These have been people that remain no attachment (except one person who went beyond lover description). The sex is more intimate and satisfying with those people but they don't clutter up my home or life.

Yup. I'd add that whilst there is a feeling there, it needn't be an "attachment". A lover without attachment is a delicate and fine creature. |

The key words here for me are 'intimacy and satisfying'. Those, to me, are descriptions of behaviour rather than the feelings associated with a lover. You can have intimacy and satisfaction with someone with whom you 'click' as you are on a common wavelength, but that doesn't mean (to me) that they are a 'lover'.
