last time a bit fell off it turned out it was the hard drive cover so now sometimes it falls out a bit lol

more than likely its one that holds the access panels for things like memory and hard drive. turn it over and see if any of the panels are loose.

I am a trained (ish) lol, computer engineer.

I had a tiny black one fall out of my laptop (also 2007) last year. I never did find where it came from but it keeps working so it must be ok.

There's always an odd screw in every life.

Used to strip down & rebuild all ma motorbikes in the 80's. There were always a few nuts & bolts left over

Nothing ever fell off & the bike seemed to go faster
