Ok, question for you all.
You arrange to meet someone - (not necessarily for sex) - could be social, could be as friends etc and the other party has to cancel for a given (could be very valid) reason.
Who do you feel should re-arrange the meeting, and why? |

"The person who cancelled should have mentioned a rearrange in the cancellation. You would then reply to that invitation." because they are the one who cancelled |

^^^ this... If they don't mention an alternative date then I wouldn't chase them for one.
If someone cancels without re-arranging I would assume they didn't want to re-arrange and that they just wanted to cancel |

We all get family emergencys or illness etc! I think in those cases we all understand! The last time someone cancelled on me. In all fairness he gave me 5 days notice, and he offerred to rearrange. I turned him down as we had had the meet arranged in advance by about 3 weeks, once it was in my diary I turned down other social activities. But he was cancelling as he was being asked to attend a BBQ at his friends house! I chose not to rearrange as I could foresee this happening again. But sometimes shit happens and we have to be somewhat undersatnding. But in all honesty I rarely give 2nd chances. |

Isn't any meeting social, pleasure or otherwise a mutual arrangement between all parties ?
If someone cancels then I'd hope they'd say when they could rearrange, but, that opens up another round of negotiations |

Ive had to cancel before but have rearranged and had a good meet.
Also once cancelled and they got funny but my hobbit was sick and she will always come first so after them getting funny i never spoke to them again...their loss n all that.
Just ask them to let you know when is good to rearrange and leave it to them. |

To be honest I've been cancelled before...but in the message she didnt mention a rearrange date.
So I asked "do you wanna rearrange? " or words to that effect.
She said yeah...and we rearranged and eventually met.
So just my take. |

Most interesting responses. I should clarify that my question is a more generalised view on friends and social meetings (and not aimed at anyone or any incident related to this site!!)
For me, if the other party cancels and all express a desire to rearrange, it is very much my view that this lies with the cancelling party. Because if I were to keep trying to re-arrange I would quickly feel that I were trying to push myself onto the other party - and the thought of being 'that pushy friend' just abhors me.
But can it then lead to feelings of disappointment / rejection when it never happens - as if it were all lip-service and that really I'm just not interesting or enough of a friend to take the time to actually rearrange?
If all of that makes sense!
