How would you deal with a neighbour causing a lot of noise, for example banging late at night, moving furniture at around midnight? Any suggestions welcome

knock at a reasonable hour and explain that they can be heard clearly in your house .. and ask if they could maybe do it at a more reasonable hour in order not to disturb you

Keep ma diary. Contact your local council and report them. Ignore the council's immediate "have you spoken to them yet?". It's their job.Failing that put a window through and knock shit out of them.(no witnesses though) Worked a treat for me.

Tried speaking to them and its quiet for a night or two then it all starts again, they live directly above me and right now it sounds like she is trying to come through into my flat

Then contact your local authority regarding a noise abatement order.

Move, or get some ear defenders.

Well I shouldn't have to do either of those really. No one should have to put up with that amount of noise

Then ignore it, if you don't choose to follow the normal path then no one can make you....

I've spoken to them, I've put a complaint in with the council. I don't see why I should have to move cos someone else is being inconsiderate. My point is that I'm quiet at night because I understand people need peace, she doesn't care and will make noise till whatever time she pleases, with no thought for anyone else

This will be happening tomorrow, she's having a party all her mates shouting and banging about. Grizzly is up at 5 so he knocked on to ask her to be a bit quieter and got a door slammed in his face. She's a prick
