Im sorry op but reading what you have posted on this thread, by your reckoning because i like to come on this site, browse and contribute to the forums, check my messages and actively seek out potential meets to chat to, the fact that i go through my inbox and dont have a spare 3 hours to reply to people that havent bothered to read my profile, dont match what im looking for, dont appeal to me or a mix of all 3, so i choose not to reply to those messages so i can spend my time enjoying the site, that makes me ignorant in your book.

I dont ring every takeaway up that posts a menu through my door and say no thanks but that doesnt make me ignorant.

I would not change my profile to block single men from messaging as I often look for single men.

Yes some of the messages get tedious and some days a deleting spree is in order.

BUT....I would be an unhappy Mrs.F if I got no messages at all so I put up with them and ignore the one liners.

Plus I've had some very nice in boxes over the years

Although it's not always possible to answer every bit of mail. I do however reply to the mail I feel the user has made an effort. The hi, how are you, fancy a shag mail goes straight into delete. I have mailed guys on here to get no response, I didn't take offence, I took it as they weren't interested. The same way I don't message back if I am not interested.

Yes I see your point of view re an active profile however the analogy of it being junk mail implies the sender hasn't read your profile, not deemed a nice message, doesn't fit requirements etc etc the list is endless

The word junk equating to - not for me.

Like no I don't need any new double glazing.

And as per site FAQ's I suppose it is then deemed ok to not reply to every message as it is not deemed to be impolite.

In my opinion a non-response is nicer for someone with a fragile ego than a polite no thanks. With these types you get an abusive retort.

Also, my opinion, a non-response is the opposite to what some guys feel a polite no thanks is: an invitation to chat and work around the "no thanks".

I do not have the energy to deal with either of the above.

Also I have put in my profile what a non-response means :D.

If people think I am ignorant (common usage of the word as opposed to dictionary definition)... I simply do not care
