I am bottoming the lounge and dining room at the moment and I have the stereo on blasting out classic house acid tunes from the mid-80's as I scrub away with my marigolds. Would love to go clubbing again but my knees would not take it!
I love all sorts of current music but house does it for me every time. Anyone else stuck in a 130 BPM timewarp? |

I think I'm more stunned at the fact you're a bloke who knows what bottoming the lounge and dining room means, never mind what music you're playing as you do it. Kudos man! |

"Soooooooooo wots "house"???????
will stick to stuff i know me thinks "
Well, house music is usually characterised as high tempo, electronic dance music; it can vary in style and some records were big commercial hits in the 80's and 90's such as Ride on Time and a couple by Technotronic's Pump Up the Jam |

Yes but don't forget this will be a man's version of bottoming i.e. not very thorough |

It's going through iTunes so I have the equalizer on bass reduce.
I am now on to a cracking ambient house mix. If yo like the stuff head to a brilliant blog by a DJ
http://yearofmixtapes.blogspot.com
A new mix each week
(I tried to add the classic acid smiley but it's not here!) |

"whats the difference between house and garage music?
"
The term garage music started in the rock scene, in that scene it was basically bands that got together to practice in garages.
Then the townies pinched it, like they always do, always playing catch up. |

Well Garage House is named after a club in New York called the Paradise Garage, so nothing to do with garage rock

I am an avid listener to Armin Van Buuren's weekly 'A State of Trance' radio show.
Whilst my days of 'throwing shapes in the church of dance' are long behind me, I can still appreciate awesome goa, psy and trance. |

I love goa and psy trance. Still go clubbing once a month to a little trance place I know in Brixton. Fantastic night, real mixture of people and ages. My favourite person there is Frank, he is 65 years old, and still trips his bollocks off every month!!! |

"When is it too old?! I'm not too old am I? Used to frequent 'crasher back in its hey day! Moved on to tech house & deep house music, love Aciiiid too! "
My definition of 'too old' is when the only thing you can manage to see after midnight is the inside of your own eyelids!!
For some, it comes earlier than others! |

Ha, I started this thread ages ago before I deleted my old account.
I still have Strings of Life blasting away in the car but I have added some of the youngster's stuff such as Deadmau5 and Star Slinger. I can hear the old 303 and 808 sounds in a lot of the tracks that are being released today. |

In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove.
And from this groove came the groove of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,
"Let there be HOUSE!"
and house music was born! |

"I prefer garage music
Deep, soulful types of house is what does it for me.
Yes I hear lots but never know what they are called to download "
Storm Queen and Infinity Ink are two groups I love and they both have a couple of tracks that are really well known atm when it comes to deep house so you never know, might be them! |
