You know something, i have mixed feelings about valentines day. Its lovely to get flowers or taken for a meal but its also sad that some people only do this for their partners "because its valentines day" |

I merchandise Cards for all season's (NOT commision based either)and I love Valentines Day..
Women come in look read and buy..
The men ponder, this card or that, is the card too big, too small, too slushy.
The Flowers, single rose or a whole bunch..
Wine or Chocolate's, no she's on a diet, get the wine or should it be Champagne..
Lets face it girls we are not easy to please, so you can imagine how hard it is for the blokes to buy the right thing..

It's about paying 10 times the price for a bunch of roses than you'd have paid last week or that you would pay next week 
That jolly old occupation of making people feel guilty then get them to pay through the nose to ease the guilt |

It's about trying to encourage people to spend, shortly after christmas is a slow period for the shops, so this day falls nicely.
I don't knock those that do celebrate it, but it ain't for me.
If I did choose to celebrate it, I wouldn't buy gifts as such, but do nice things, prepare breakfast for my loved one and wake her with it, maybe make a lovely dinner, may even let her have the TV remote. |

Mrs Red will get her boiled egg and soldiers in bed, I'll get 3 Walnut Whips and a bag of 'Colin the Caterpiller jelly sweets 
We both get each other a card, be we have a chain of shops called the Card Factory, who do good quailty cards for less than a quid each
No we're not mean, we just don't like the idea of havving the piss ripped out of us
