Nah, not leaving so stop celebrating

Moving on at work...after my illness last year I kinda lost my mojo in my current training post so requested help with finding a new position from my management as well as actively applying for internal vacancies on our site...

A colleague put my name forward to another directorate for a DBA type role on one of our PES and after a discussion with them yesterday, they think my skills will suit their opening so as of Monday I will be moving to a new position, initially on 4 month secondment with a view to a permanent place in their org chart.

Just to prove the point regarding waiting ages for a bus then 2 come along at once, I also have an interview next week for a vacancy I applied for earlier in the month! If I'm successful, I plan to turn the job down as the secondment is more within the sphere I wanted to move back to - if the broad roles are the same, my new management should be able to use a successful board report to slot me into their organisation

Now for the bad news...my diary should start to fill and I'll actually have some work to do (yeahhhh!!!!) so I won't be forum browsing much whilst at work any more - sorry guys and gals, you'll have to get your fix of my lunatic posts evenings and weekends only - try not to be too upset

"Would that be a Dangly Bollocks Assessor for the Penis Evaluation Squad?"

Sounds much more interesting than a Database Administrator for a Programmable Electronic System

Right you! Following on from my management rant I now have to also hunt you down and do unspeakable things to you too. Far too many buzzwords in that post for my liking, clearly management has taken over in arse end and you need some slight adjustment. Probably with the thick end of a spanner and a bin bag!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Things have moved on since the social in Manchester then.

I'm glad you've got two offers. Why can't you convince them that a threesome will work?

Your KPIs for forum posts will become more stringent. Fewer posts should ensure better quality overall after all.

I was actually thinking of you whilst typing the post Jodie...in the fervent hope you WOULD attempt to track me down and do bad things to me ...have to warn you though, Hadrian's Wall is a bugger to get over in a frock and heels

I'll be attempting some blue-sky thinking wrt posting quantity to ensure I still bring to the table best practices whilst remaining forumite-centric and yet still empowering other posters and the next generation of regulars to feel confident that the sea change and paradigm shift caused by my transformation from training professional to PES Engineer leaves few ripples in the duck pond

Sorry Jodie

Feck, I feel queasy after typing that

You really do need to flow chart or at least Gantt chart how you will square that circle. It is essential that you continue to maintain face to face contact with forum and Fab folk to ensure that you understand the current and future issues of the community.

I suggest you prepare a number of Thursday Rants that can be uploaded outside of weekend and evening threads in order to remain relevant to the day forum folk.

Thanks everyone...I'm now a little concerned about Jodie turning up in my backyard with a range of implements, a fertile imagination and a sadistic streak so I need volunteers for a Focus Group...our generic terms of reference will be "Protect Caz from the naughty TV" but we'll need to actualise a formal Mission Statement that is backwards-compatible with the recontextualised Vision (which also has to be solution-oriented).

Let me just run a few ideas up the flagpole...SWOT analysis to realise the scale of the problem facing the quorate, whiteboarding a mind map of the strategic gaps to excellence followed by a series of consensus workshops should allow us to develop a robust criteria matrix to combat this threat from north of the border

It's all very well having ToRs but there needs to be a clear MoU for all parties as we might get hurt.

I don't think we used CRM anywhere. I hang my head in shame.
