Cos in the 50's Harley was not cool, it was just another motorcycle. The marketing department started aiming at cool in the mid 70's and reached the "oh shit!" point with the Harley branded Barbie doll in the mid 90's |

I don’t know….!.
But perhaps from a practical point maybe Mr Winkler’s diminutive stature might have created problems trying to mount a more girthy ride…

"How come the Fonz rode a triumph?"
Harleys are designed for an inside leg measurement of 31" - roughly the same as horse saddle to stirrup for a cowboy. The Fonz was a right short-arse. |

Ride whatever you want that's cool. Riding a particular make in order to try to be cool won't work. Steve Mcqueen can be cool riding anything, Jeremy Clarkson won't be cool no matter what he's got his leg over |

"But the Fonz can
Sit on it!
But Henry played the fonz. He had to have a trike when he was "riding" while facing the camera"
And the cops in CHiPS were allegedly riding kawasakis while sitting on a trailer. That proves nothing. |

Not sure a tuned rd400 would be classed as cool, but with those spannies on def gonna be loud ... Ahhh ... the wail of the 2 stroke, the smell of Castrol TT, leather clad hotties on a long summers day. Triumphs were better for pulling with though, those vibes can do wonderful things for lady pillion passengers |

A lot of prejudiced views from people who have never ridden or owned a Harley!
I have owned and ridden many bikes, fro crotch rockets, italian, brits and Harleys!
I now run a Harley Fat Bob 103 cu inchs of Grin for me!
Ride what you enjoy and makes you grin, be open minded and appreciate what other people ride!
Oh and Fonz WAS Cool |
