Not the beef variety!

My "lovely" neighbours who unfortunately have lived by me for 3 years never ever open their bedroom curtains. They dont work so I know its not because they work shifts and sleep during the day.

I dont know why it riles me so much but to me opening your curtains (still sounds dirty!) is an important part of the day, it welcomes the new day and you feel fresh ready to start again (well that's what I like to think).

I would love to go over, storm into their house, upstairs, rip those curtains open and shout "open your curtains you tramps".

Is there anything similar which winds you up when really it shouldn't.

I must add, I do have a bit of OCD when it comes to my house.

I only have vertical blinds which maintains my privacy whilst also letting in light. suits me at the end of very small cul-de-sac where everyone can see into each other's houses.

I admit my bedroom curtains rarely open because I haven't been able to afford the blinds I want yet and as I'm south facing the sun shines in all day and I don't want the sun to discolour the duvet or the gorgeous leather bed I saved for 2 years for!!!

What does piss me off is my neighbours opposite despite having a drive big enough for 2 cars insist on parking badly on the road right opposite my drive making turning in and out more difficult!!!

I agree with the OP, I couldn't stand being in a room with the natural light shut out, how dingy that would be.

I have vertical blinds and curtains. My curtains aren't closed because the folds are all even and positioned nicely in the holdbacks. I open and close the vertical blinds in all my rooms.

What annoys me is washing left out overnight.

Yep, I have a blind in my bedroom because my curtains are postioned perfectly and I dont like to mess them up

A woman who used to live opposite me would actually hang hers out in the rain, not drizzle but chucking it down, and leave it till it was dry whether that be days or weeks. I saw her hanging washing out in -18C temps during a snow storm in December. Bonkers.

Welcome to my world.

And yes it is a lovely world, full of open curtains.

Although it's not my greatest concern really.

My greatest concern is when, people who already have fluffed cushions, feel the need to re-fluff them.

I mean they're already fluffed,so re-fluffing is totally not necessary,and yet,they Still re-fluff.

Fluffing should only be done, when fluffing is necessary, not out with

re-fluffing necessity.

Ooooooooo your right,it is a good world, full of open curtains, and

un-fluffed,fluffy pillows.

As I live on the top floor of a block of flats, shutting curtains is not an issue, but I always do in the bedroom.

I used to live in a house with my ex and her ex, it pissed me off when they stuffed so much rubbish into the kitchen bin that the liner would not come out without it being ripped to shreds

My neighbour does the same. It upsets me! I'm also a bit OCD. Have to hang the washing out in a certain, neat way in size and then shade order. Watching a white load dry in the breeze has a calming effect on me.

Someone once said that you can tell a chavs house because they have more furniture outside than in. I find this quite true.

Lots of people say that it's judgemental to others, that they have a right to live as they wish, focus on yourself rather than others etc etc, but sod judgement, these people who can't keep their homes clean and gardens tidy are lazy arsed gits.

Wow!!!!

I'd be pretty cheesed off if someone criticised me for not opening my curtains. The garden mess is something else altogether: I have been lucky to live in areas where, in the immediate vicinity, people keep their gardens tidy. Yet a little way up the road it looks like a council dump. For people selling property in these areas it must be awful as it will affect potential buyers.

Going back to curtains closed, these people may use this as a barrier against the outside world, a barrier against nosy and judgemental people or simply the sun is too damn bright. Whatever the reason, it does not make them lazy/dirty/other names called.

Well I can give you a reason why my garden got untidy... I had a breakdown in 2004, became agorophobic. Didn't, couldn't leave my house for 3 years, obviously in that time my garden was becoming a sight for sore eyes. No fault of mine. Nosey neighbours interfering, trying to get me out.... Didn't work though! Didn't STOP the neighbours bitching though eh???

See ppl know nothing of others troubles, only too quick to judge what they don't know or understand.... Ignorance!!!!

Ignorance!!!!"

Well I'm sorry to hear about your personal problems but maybe you could have asked a friend to tidy your garden for you or maybe hired a gardener?

Sorry to disappoint you but my neighbours are in their very early twenties, have no health problems. The only problems they have is having no respect. They cause lots of problems with their anti social behaviour, drinking, comitting crime (yes i know that for a fact). So instead of judging me and accusing me of being ignorant, YOU don't live in my street, YOU dont know the problems myself and the rest of my lovely neighbours have had to put up with because of them. have had to put up with. Jeez some people are so quick to judge aren't they when they dont have the full facts!!!!!!

The same reason everyone else in this thread did...it is an open forum. I haven't abused you or been inflammatory. Did i touch a nerve? Maybe you realised that you have dedicated way more of your annoyance quota towards curtains than you need to. Maybe.....

No, you haven't touched a nerve. We all have different things that annoy us, its life, we are all different.

I must remember not to be to judgemental,on the lagger lout wankers, who moved in near my mum.

They have a mattress,a three piece suite, and a chest of drawers in their garden.

They play loud music all night, haven't used a speaking tone under 100decibels since they moved in.

They think schooling for their children is optional, leaving said children to run wild all day.

Till now, perhaps I've judged them to harshly,I never even considered that maybe they were ill, shame on me.

I don't open my bedroom blinds for the simple reason that they keep fucking falling down when I do.

(I'm not a DIY expert, apart from the obvious...)

"

Is there anything similar which winds you up when really it shouldn't.

"

I think the above is the most important sentence in the OP's original post.

She acknowledged it was unreasonable for her to be wound up by this and was only asking for examples of other people's irrational dislikes.

But, as per usual, the "don't judge" "each to their own" brigade turn a totally light-hearted topic into a row.
