What proportion of people actually use the Preview Message pane to review what they have written?
Some messages in the forums are almost impossible to fathom out due to spelling, lack of punctuation and general rambling content. In effect it wastes the author's time writing it in the first place.

"Lol - I do not preview as I am impatient by nature. Perhaps I should
Well you got that one right though. " Not for spelling - I am pretty good at that when I put my mind to it. Not for content either... but sometimes I am too seeeeerious |

Well I don't know what the OP has been reading as ive never seen a post on here that has been so poorly written that ive not been able to understand any of it
I don't preview my posts,im on my phone, ill make mistakes but its a sex forum, what I write can be understood well enough, thats all that really matters to me
Now if I was sitting an exam it would be a different matter altogether |

I always wonder if the spelling and grammar aficionado's leave fully punctuated typed messages on someone's car if they accidentally bum them in a car park rather than a hand written '2 sorry heres my number' |

How does a bad speller, a dyslexic , a person of near illiteracy check their own work.
What does it matter? Put some effort in. |

Spelling mistakes don't bother me really. I mean, like Femme said, this is a forum not an A level exam. My spelling is pretty good, it's my typing that's shite!
It's the ones that are just so lazily typed they are really difficult to read. Text speak and complete lack of punctuation is just pure laziness - I have seem some posts that when written like this are just impossible to decipher!
Mind you, if I was to try and write something using just text speak, it would probably take me longer than typing it out properly! Surely text speak these days (particularly on an actual phone) is even more difficult with predictive text? |

It is a forum and the point is to make comments for others to consider. To those who think communication is secondary as it is not an exam, es sie nicht wissen, was Sie sagen; what is the point?

Doesn't waste my time cos u like winding up the people who get annoyed at bad spelling and grammar. At the end of the day it's not really that hard to understand the majority of posts on here really is it?? |

"Nothing wrong with text speak on a phone. It was because of limited number of characters available.Strangely most people I know I know use etc. That's an abbreviated word. Is that wrong?"
Etc. short for etcetera is probably the most widely use abbreviation in the world so no worries there.

I am mildly dyslexic. I was not talking about dyslexia. I was just asking who checks their posts before posting them.
So please do not insult horse riders again. |

We don't as it all adds to a little bit or Russian roulette fun if we get it wrong and I dare say something for the spelling police to correct.
I always wonder if the spelling and grammar aficionado's leave fully punctuated typed messages on someone's car if they accidentally bum them in a car park rather than a hand written '2 sorry heres my number'
Accidentally bum them? Oooeerrrr

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I rarely preview and I do get annoyed when I see that typing too quickly means I have missed a word or made a typo(graphical error).
I'm always eager to ensure I get my post up before the thread is closed or it disappears. I don't always succeed.

I do, though often its when I want to get the formatting right. I write my epic long posts in MS Word first, then cut n paste.
...though I think there's going to be far less of those in the future! |
