Need a light hearted thread, hope you'll join.
Works like this, You declare your speciality. The next person enters with a question about it they may have. You answer it. The person who asked the question will of course signed off with their speciality so the thread continues.

Identical twin sons have left their legacies to each other in their wills. Each twin also has a son - but one is older than the other. These sons are their father's beneficiary if their twin brother dies first The twins are both involved in a car accident and are declared dead at the same time.

It was The Body - don't know if he had a pseudonym.
Oh and the kind of literature I did was a lot of classical stuff - 19th/20th century poetry, Shakespeare, Romantics, Victorian novels, etc. |

Every action has an equal an opposite reaction.
First off grab a balloon or condom and try and inflate it without folding the open end... See?
Nothing can happen on its own. Something has to cause that. Sitting on a chair you press down as much as the chair pushes up. An action causes change so the thing causing the change must itself be changed or you have created something from nothing.
Imagine stepping out of a boat on to the shore. The force moving you onto the shore also pushes the boat back.
This also means that sex in zero gravity where friction is tiny would be hard. Geniuses have calculated who quickly a couple would be pushed apart as a fest of a male orgasm if they didn't hang on. |

My bad it was published under Stephen King and if it was originally published as a standalone novella, it then got put in a 4 story collection called Different Seasons along with Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption |

4 large eggs separated
2 ounces of self-raising flour
2 ounces of corn flour
4 ounces of caster sugar
vanilla flavouring
Just couldn't remember what to put in what order. I recall the egg whites had to be whipped first and the egg yolks and vanilla went in last. Folding in had to be done with a metal spoon - but other than that I can't remember. Last time I made it it was a disaster. |

From those ingredients i would say add your sugar and flours fold your egg whites and then fold in your egg yolks and vanilla....i personally am not a fan of corn flour in cakes but from that list its the method i would use.
Also dont make your egg whites stiff and careful of too much air x |

Right - next time I'm making a birthday cake may give it a go. Used to always make my daughter's birthday cakes and they were always lovely. Iced them with whipped cream and then popped on the ready made letters. |

Deep. That last one reminds me of an art installation I went to in Hanover some years ago - at the Sprengel Museum, I think. Had to go through a narrow darkened passageway which switched back on itself several times then into a totally pitch black room. Had been told that there would be a chair near the open doorway which I found only by feeling my way along a wall. I have never ever experienced darkness like it. I really could not see my hand in front of my face (and I don't mean like the common phrase) not even when I held it so close it touched my nose. Freaky. After some minutes though I noticed that I could just make out the outline of my hand. Then I heard the voice of the woman who had sent me in - she was overseeing the installation - saying I could come out now.
I often wondered if I could actually see my hand or was I imagining it to somehow compensate for such utter blackness. |

Use a webcam with a long lead (or cordless) and position it behind you with you facing your pc, then you can see what the camera sees and snap accordingly.
My specialty is glass craft, stained and fused glass specifically. |

Fantastic.
At the other end of the light spectrum I saw an exhibit at the Pompideu in Paris where a room was wall to wall screens incl the ceiling. Seemed to be doing nothing until about 2 seconds later you saw yourself walk in. Getting my head around seeing what I did 2s ago fed live in front of me was brilliant.
For anyone thinking the mirror was broken... What repaired it in the instant the light was switched on? |

Now there you start to get into quantum mechanics which has some scary proofs... Like there is a chance, all be it small, that your arm will pass through the next wall you lean on and a smaller chance you can pull it back out.

Wouldn't each of the twins sons inherit their own fathers estate in this situtation?
The twins declared the other as the primary beneficiary. Each designated their own son as a contengient beneficiary. If the twins die at exactly the same time then the estates would pass to each of the contengient beneficiaries.
If one twin was to pass away 5 minutes before the other then couldn't it be argued that both estates would pass to the son whos father died second.
Anyone what to set me straight if im wrong? Lol im really curious to know this one.
I do know here in texas it would only be the twins mother if there were no beneficiaries specified and there were no spouse or children. |

Identical twin sons have left their legacies to each other in their wills. Each twin also has a son - but one is older than the other. These sons are their father's beneficiary if their twin brother dies first The twins are both involved in a car accident and are declared dead at the same time.
Who inherits?
Wouldn't each of the twins sons inherit their own fathers estate in this situtation?
The twins declared the other as the primary beneficiary. Each designated their own son as a contengient beneficiary. If the twins die at exactly the same time then the estates would pass to each of the contengient beneficiaries.
If one twin was to pass away 5 minutes before the other then couldn't it be argued that both estates would pass to the son whos father died second.
Anyone what to set me straight if im wrong? Lol im really curious to know this one.

My friend told me the answer - and as she is a solicitor I have to trust that she is correct.
As both twins died in the same crash and it is impossible to determine who died first the law makes the presumption that the eldest died first. Even if the eldest twin is only the oldest by a matter of minutes. The law will make that presumption.
Now, eldest twin leaves his inheritance to his twin brother. His twin brother then is deemed to have inherited that estate just prior to his death. However, now that the younger twin is deemed to have died last HIS inheritance goes to his own son since his older twin is already considered to have died.
So the person who inherits everything is the son of the younger twin.

OK it begins with a man trying to get away from his captives he is a distance ahead of them.THE man comes upon a farm the robber tells the farmer he has more money and will go half with him if he hides him from the law.The farmer tells him hide in the pond out back using a bamboo for breathing.
