During the early years of our marriage, (27yrs now) we were down on our luck, skint, with two young kids.
I wrote a cheque that said
"Pay Kate one million kisses", and put it in an enveope.
Kates still has it to this day, and she says its the most romantic thing I have
ever done for her. |

"What do you give to your partner who has his birthday on Valentine's Day???? Help "
A Xmas card, I like to be original, .
PS
seriously, anything that shows some thought is worth more than any money oriented gift. |

Something very romantic and something as far from romance you think she would like so that there is a definate line between the two presents.
So the flowers, dinner, lingerie, chocolates etc are def valentines gifts.
You know your partner you know what she would like that is not lovey stuff related, perhaps music ? |

we haven't bothered with valentines for a few years now, don't see the need to feel pushed into doting our love on each other on one particular day, paying over the odds for flowers, cards, meals etc when we do it throughout the year anyway |

For valentines day, nothing at all.
Only when I want to give.
and seeing as we celebrate our getting together one week before we don't bother celebrating valentines day. |

I-send-to-you-the-only-thing-I-have-to-give-you.
Knowledge of the existence
of another's love as it
swirls to meet you
through the mists
and fogs of your journey.
Whispering to you.
Hoping you hear me and feel
the essence of my soul as I
surround you.
Do-you-feel-the-connection?
In the warm breeze
that welcomes you as
you walk your path of life,
hear me calling.
Sense my being and
know that I'm
always with you.
Calling to you.
When the thunder thuds
all around you, listen to my cry
as I join you to soften the blows.
If the lightning should
strike you badly again
remember,
I'm holding you closely.
With a kiss so soft I send
you these thoughts, hoping
they will reach you in
a whispering air
of surety.
Do you hear me?
If a feather should
fall in your direction,
it's me.
When you see a leaf float
gently down from a tree,
it's me.
The ocean waves that sing their
peaceful tune
are me.
And the voice in your head that you hear so clearly
is me.
Listen to your heart.
I-love-you. |
