How many of you actually like spending time alone?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Since my sons left the family home and we downsized dramatically, added to the fact that my other half works away Five or Six days a week for most of the year....I get to spend a lot of time in my own company, and I love it. |

Having spent much of my adult life entrapped in the confines of an offshore drilling rig where privacy and solitude were almost unknown commodities….!.
So now I’m retired I don’t struggle with my own company at all, although there are times when I miss the companionship that forced environment provided…
As for my personal life…
I’d much rather not be alone but that’s not how things turned out…! ,,,

"Yes I enjoy it, I live alone for the most part - daughter gets home on leave about 6/7 weeks of the year. I am not lonely as have a fulfilled work, social life and friends " I think friends and a decent social life are quite important. |

"Me time is great when you know that at the end of it, someone is there for you. When your alone its not the great feeling that people think " Being lonely and having time on your own are not necessarily one and the same though. |

No its not you can live with someone and be lonely...I cherish the time I have when its just me in the house.. I can do that for a period of time then I get bored...However I have never lived on my own for long periods of time.. |

I hate my own company, I work alone most of the time, so like to have company. My other half has been at a music festival since fri and I've never felt so alone! More so because of the extra day off |

I like it... More than happy to potter, chill, catch up with friends, cook for myself etc.
I totally love it when the boy is here and ache for him when he's not.
However, comfortable in my own skin too. |

I love alone time. My housemate has been away for the whole summer so I've had the house to myself for over a month, it's been awesome! He gets back at the end of the week though, so I'm going to have to get used to sharing again. |

I once saw a postcard, it said:
It's like this. When I'm with people I want to be alone and when I'm alone I want to be with people.
I wonder for how many people that's a truism? |

"The best Me time is in the car I guess. No worries open road and you can chill out if its not too busy. Can't beet me time in my book. "
I love driving on my own - driven across Europe alone. Loved every second of it. |

I love spending time by myself. I actually think I am a solitary person by nature and feel quite content in my own company. I need a lot more personal space than a lot of people I think, and if I don't get it I get really grumpy and agitated. |

I live alone. I work from home.
If I didn't enjoy my own company I can honestly say they would have found me hanging from the rafters by now.
Still gets lonely though. |

I love it! I can take a hot bath, light some scented candles, maybe enjoy a glass of ice cold white wine. wear a nice roomy nightshirt, do my nails in peace, give myself a relaxing facial whilst listening to music, make myself some nice food.. Watch what I like on the tv, catch up on fab, just generally enjoy the peace and quiet! |

"Rear even when I am alone I have my 5 dogs around so I never feel alone ." I wasn't counting pets as lots of people have them, I have my dog, but his conversation is less than stimulating. Lol. |

I was a single parent for a long while - so not truly alone. But have been completely alone now for some years. Never bothered me at all - love it when someone comes to stay but always nice to get my space back when they go. |

"I actually kind of prefer my own company! And like being able to choose when I have company (except during work hours, obviously )"
This is me too. I suppose I'm lucky that I don't get lonely really. Being alone and being lonely can be two totally different things though. You can live in a house full of people and still feel lonely. |

I love me time...I have a large circle of friends and lots of interests so people see me as very sociable.
But there is nothing better than some down time to sit around in my jimjams and do..nothing
I live on my own and won;t ever change that
