I know it's not really the season for red wine but what is your favourite tipple?

Back in the day when I took a wee drink, I did enjoy the occasional glass of Madeira....

Summer is normally the season for chilled white wine.

Or if you are American, pink fizzy plonk with ice in.

Or even Pimms....

People drink what they want whatever the "season".

I don't drink wine anymore. I'm like a teenager after their first drink. I get too daft and boisterous.

See what you've done....

Now I've got a real hankering to buy some Riddles Ginger Wine Essence and make me up a batch that I can sip through a straw from a frosted glass decorated with a sprig of fresh mint...

Sheeeesh ......

And there was me about to take the piss out of you for mis-spelling Syria...

A nice Rioja or Merlot for me (well, if I'm honest, any old bottle of plonk often does the trick)

Chardonnay's vile, unless it's aged in something other than oak barrels, then it's tolerable !

A Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (Oyster Bay if you've got it !), or a nice Merlot

I agree with the season thing, I love red wine but drinking it turns my internal thermometer up a fair bit and I can't cope with that when it is already warm! Prefer cold beer and chilled white wine. Though my idea on Saturday night was to drink whiskey (aldi's own fake JD) with diet lemonade thinking it would be less calorific than beer or wine. That may be so, but....I drank rather too much!
