Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I know some have their reasons for lurking, whether their own or imposed.

Why do some, quite a few in my case, feel the need to send hateful messages to your inbox?

Do others get this?

Lurkers, join in the debate - make your _iews known to the many. Argue the point and don't attack the person.

I actually have the opposite, nice comments and messages.

It is a poor show if they choose to attack you like that and obviously spineless as can't stand by their comments in public _iew.

Isn't it the same outcome for sending a private message?

I suspect many people read but don't comment..I sincerely understand why but private messaging nasty replies seems a very low kind of cowardice indeed

I've had one or two over the years but mostly very freindly ones. Generally they are highly supportive if something negative has happened in the forum.

Probably by sheer weight of numbers the senders tend to be male and as is their wont they usually want to 'put you straight' or 'let you know where you are going wrong' or just write a tirade of abuse about a point you made in the forum. More often than not they block after an outburst. I guess they just don't have sufficient emotion or calibre to withstand a reply. A bit like punchers and runners in the playground.

Not sure why you'd get them. Your posts are generally balanced and objective.

Yes I've received "hate" mail and I left once as a result. Now its just ignore.

Those people are simply bullies. They can't force you to accept their opinions on a forum, so they get angry at not having their own way.

Its their problem not yours. Keep posting, the forums are the best part of fab for me.

Small minded people who have nothing better to do. Report them. If they do post on here don't reply to the topic they start.

Just my opinion hope i dont get hate messages now! Ive put my tin hat on just in case!!

I have no problem with lurkers (waves and smiles flitatiously at the fitties ) but if you do have a comment to make about a thread then if post it on the thread. And if it's not suitable for the forums then nor is it suitable for my inbox! Although aforementioned fitties feel free to inbox me (warning: fittie is a subjective categorisation and The Bitch retains the right to point and laugh if your opinion doesn't match hers. )

A bit like the kid that stands on the edge of the playground and says everyone is being mean to him.

It's always easier to blame others than to realise it's the self.

Hopefully she will post eventually and realise that she is capable of joining in.

Yes, everyone is welcome, and I do find it interesting to see someone new contributing. Just bring your own unique style and don't expect to see eye to eye on everything. But that's good.

I do block and delete and I have never reported anyone for anything - it's just their opinion conveyed in unpleasant ways.

Punch and run is a good way of looking at it.

It just saddens me that people feel the need to behave in such a manner in the first place.

OMG that's terrible! Anything that goes on in the Forums should stay in the Forums. I've not been on here much recently as some of the Threads have got rude and nasty in my opinion and I've kept away for that reason

However, all I've had is nice messages from people in the Forums. Miss Bambi being a prime example this morning when she'd noticed I'd been absent and in hiding and messaged to ask if I was ok x

There is no need for anyone to be rude in the Forums in the first place, but messaging individuals for a comment they made is not on and cowardly if you ask me!

It does indeed. Prohibition always leads to a black market.

I have had both positive messages and negative and my response is the same 'type your thoughts into the forum and join in'. I go on the forums to join in with lots of members, I don't want to just have that debate with one person.

I don't feel the need to have my thoughts applauded either, it's not a contest trying to outdo each other, it is merely an online discussion and whether it gets contentious or flows all lovey dovey, then just click and type in the boxes allocated

That's how I feel too. If I wanted to discuss something one on one I'd just contact that person.

Just listening to that. You learn something new every day....an application that can disguise your voice on the phone so that a female can pass herself off as a male.

I presume the opposite is possible too.

That was a shock. Plus the half a million people sucked into the scams.

There is another thread ongoing about suffering fools gladly. I must be having a very foolish day as I went back through the posts looking for a comment by R4

I now feel extremely foolish but also had a good laugh at myself

I get about 3 or 4 a month. I generally ignore them or send them a polite reply and then block them. The one that greeted me this morning was just rude and a bit bonkers and made me wonder if other posters got these sorts of messages.
