Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

What happens when you drink a pro-biotic drink with your antibiotic tablet?

To be fair I don't mind if you do. I am on a long course of antibiotics and the advice given by everyone (doctors included) is to have something pro-biotic to avoid getting Thrush, so it would be good to find out whether or not its worth shelling out for Danone.

After that you can put which side you support.

Wait a couple of days til you have finished the course, then swig em to your hearts content, and re-establish your buggy balance.

If you take a high dose pro-biotic then the overall effect is to replace much of the good bacteria which the Antibiotics strip out.

When I was taking a course of Metronidazole, I took a high dose Acidophilus tablet about half an hour after the antibiotic to flood my system with good bacteria. Yes the antibiotics do kill some of them, but not all and they help replace the good bacteria in the body, particularly in the gut / intestines. Helped me alot and avoided a few of the nasty side effects.

(The above is a personal anecdote only and not 'Quackology' - Always follow the advice of your doctor).

An alien is spawned out of a biological vortex in your gut and then you poop it out. Flush, very quickly!
