So it seems the majority of people on here don't like friend requests or winks and they get ignored.
My own use of them is it means I may be interested but would like to see a face pic maybe etc and then chat. I know everyone is going to say 'message first' and I totally agree about sending a message and trying to make an impression. But the women on here get so many messages you don't know if it's going to get read and if you've wasted your time. At least if they accept a friend request or wink back then you may be in with a chance.
It seems like I'm in the minority with this way of thinking though, so I have a suggestion;
replace the wink button with "Are you interested?" this sends the other person a clickable request which has two options;
"Maybe, message me"
or
"No thanks"
What do you think?

The best thing admin could do is give those who want to opt out of receiving winks to do so not unlike you can opt out of having your pictures fabbed then nobody can really complain about winks if they leave it open. |

 great idea couldn't agree more. I did send messages when I first joined then tried winking a bit did make sense as thought if got a wink back could send message then and other person will no doubt read it baffled now wink or message  |

If your chances of getting a meet already lie between remote,and none.
a wink is not going to improve them chances.it just says to lazy to message.
On the other hand,if your pure hot,sexy,and gorgeous,you probably don't have to wink,but if you did,
It says HUBBA HUBBA get your knob ready for a hotty.

Have you not thought about how many winks a female gets?
yep alot
and your plan may just reduce the messages and up the winks
not going to work is it really
if someone gets a lot of interest then they still will and will still have to go through all the profiles looking and you will still be that tiny fish in the ocean |

I must be in the minority as I treat winks exactly as the OP suggested, I wink back if interested and I also wink guys that I like the look of, if he wink back I message.
However I ignore any friend request sent without prior contact as my friend list is only for people I've met or want to meet |

being a free member, I wink, as a way of letting someone know I have viewed their profile, and if they are interested will wink back, before chatting by msg. |
