Love all 3 but The Style Council most underrated of all think fans were still pissed with him for splitting The Jam,saw him live many times latest last month in the forest roll on October for next tour and still collect vinyl bootlegs and imports 6 different copies of In the city lp alone lol |

All 3 with The Jam being at the top. I was a bit too young to be an original Jam fan but loved them. Me and my friend were obsessed with Weller during The Style Council years whilst still at school. Loved his solo stuff up until Stanley Road but unfortunately I now find him rather dull and its ironic how he is still going and rather old and boring, just like the old farts he used to hate!
I had the pleasure of knowing him quite well when I was in my early 20s and although a bit grumpy sometimes, he is so down to earth and not at all rock star. Fantastic memories for me and one to tell my grandkids as I'm certain his back catalogue will bring pleasure to future generations! |

"Rumours abound that The Jam are booked for a reunion gig at Glastonbury next year...which is a really bad idea, some good memories should be left as just that !"
I doubt that will ever happen and I really hope it never does! Although I was in heaven when the roses reformed, if The Jam ever did I would be really disappointed!!! |

Totally agree. I was in the same pub as him a few years ago, he was having a quiet pint in the corner with his paper, it didn't feel right asking him for his autograph so I left him to his business. |

met him a few times during THE JAM days,he even bought a few rounds of drinks backstage after gigs.
i much rather the jam period, the style council period he tried to do the soul thing like his idol reg king of the action a 60s great little band that just never had the breaks the who,small faces and other mod bandshad. |

The jam definitely, one of my favourite bands of all time. Been to see him solo twice and neither really grabbed me the way the jam did. Decent enough night but disappointing compared those days. |

Definitely prefer Weller when he was in the Jam. The first punk LP I bought was "In The City", though they tended to go down the 'mod' road after this. I did like a lot of the Style Council's material but, by this time, they were veering on the commercial pop side. |
