No, an integrity test for caravans. If the caravan survives unscathed after having a kilo of dynamite exploded inside of it, then you can take it on the road.

Many get theirs checked annually for their own safety anyway.

Great idea. Can we make sure the caravaners are inside at point of detonation?

In all seriousness, MOT for them is a great idea. You see some right piles of shite being towed on the roads down here!

it is a legal requirement to have vehicle insurance, insurance companies will only insure you if you are road worthy.

most people want to be safe, and usually have their family with them,

I live in a caravan from easter to September, working around uk and Europe,

my caravan cost 35k and is maintained to a high standard for my safety and comfort.

I imagine a lot of people buy a cheap caravan for about £300 to give their family a cheap holiday, they may only use it one week a year,

I have 3 dogs and find a caravan an ideal choice for us.

Oh, I only ever travel at night between 1 am and 5 am, roads are generally quieter, and I find it easier.

Of all the groups likely to comply with MOT regulations, travellers as well down the list.

Agreed but picking and choosing which laws you'll obey isn't about personal priorities.

I trust there's a bulge in your cheek, or there will be a report on it's way to admin!!

However, it won't be a big deal for me, mine is serviced every year as required by the manufacturer, and is usually changed at 3 years old!

But do carry on ranting!!
