We went to see the film The Mortal Instruments - City Of Bones last night.

Books are a best seller, books have a great following from its fans.

The film:

Based on the books it had the potential to be great, in my opinion it was just a mediocre buck maker.

Personally I wouldn't rush out to see it and if it was on TV I would watch something else.

Lone Ranger 10/10

Mortal Instruments 3/10

most films now are over rated i think anyways, many are watchable but not how they make out, and usualy best bits are whats on trailers.

they seem think all these special effects are what makes a good movie too yet too much can ruin it and make it look too false.

I have to agree. The film very rarely lives up to the hype it is given. I have not seen a really great new film in a long time.

Fareham

My favourite recent film was Django Unchained - classic Tarantino but I like his style anyway.

The problem with a lot of modern films is that the directors think they can just throw a load of eye popping special effects at the viewer and that alone will constitute a 'good film' - it doesn't. You can beat fantastic acting and a cracking story-line in my opinion.
