Frank Turner God Save the Queen
And A-Ten by Millencolin
common thread in that they both deal with the death of someone close- if you have ever lost someone - listen to them |

Tears in heaven: far too much meaning as its written by someone else who joined a very exclusive club, the cost of joining is far too high.
The other would be Whitney Houston and the theme from the Bodyguard. Lacked two attractions of Dolly's version though (on a lighter note) |

For anyone who hasn't heard it, it may be worth listening to Bomber's Moon by Mike Harding.
Freedom has a cost too."
Good shout, there's a blast from the past. I saw him on the bombers moon tour way back when.
My answer is always the same on this subject:
Tank Park Salute by Billy Bragg. I weep like a baby, it's about his father dying and it reminds me of my long lost dad. |

Although I never knowingly met her, Lex (Who God Save The Queen is about) was friends with quite a few of my friends. Frank still turns up at the benefit gigs that get promoted in her memory.
The video with the various friends joining in always chokes me. |

"
The Onion Song - Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell
Is there a prize?
Hate to correct you but I think it may have been Kim Weston, not Tammi.
It was indeed Tammi Terrell...."
I stand corrected. "It takes two" was Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston. |

"You Needed Me - Anne Murray
Fix You - Coldplay
Slipping Through My Fingers - Abba"
Definately the Abba track, it even upset me watching Mama Mia!
For me its Sinead O Connor, Nothing Compares to you. |

A Team by Ed Sherran - last song I heard my ex gf sing. Beautiful version.

"Into the west" by annie lennox(&howard shore).
Written for the death/parting scene at the end of the lord of the rings. It starts off:
Lay down your sweet and weary head
Night is falling, you have come to journey's end
Sleep now and dream of the ones who came before
They are calling from across a distant shore
...across the sea a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home...
Considering he drowned on holiday, the song could have been written just for him |

Vampire smile - kyla la grange - reminds me of a destructive relationship
Concrete angel - Cristina novelli - the lyrics remind me why i'm not capable of having a relationship at the minute |
