I work at a day centre
dealing with dementia, alzheimers and those old dears who have NO family at all. Or whose cares need a much needed break.
They so look forward to bieng picked up, bought in and to sit with friends they have made over the years.
Without our place, many would be lost and forgotton.
So you can imagine our horror, anger and dismay when getting to work this morning, we find all three of our buses totally vandalised . Windows smashed , contents broken , seat belts ripped out etc.
Who ever had done it had managed to find a way in through high metal fencing topped with spikes ?
We had to borrow a bus in order to transport some in. use taxis and some staff members used their own cars.
Sick is what it is. And i hope to god that who ever did it, wont have a relative etc that come to rely on our services in years to come.
And to top it all. it took forensics 3 hrs to turn up and 5 hrs for the coppers to turn up.
Seems we are not a priority |

I'm sorry to hear that Peaches
unfortunately it's all too common, one of the charities I work with has an annual budget in the hundreds's of thousands for criminal damage/vandalism etc, the insurance premiums run to tens of thousands of pounds too.
Its heartbreaking when it happens, usually caused by some little ned below the age that police can actually have any impact on.
Very sad really. |

I would find out where they live and take every fooking window out and see how they like it.
Then rip all their sofas up .
They may get some idea on how it feels but i doubt it.
All no brainers |

The damage done was quite extensive and may take weeks to fix.
We wont be able to keep ferrying them re taxis so may have to close till repaired.?
They smashed all the windows and doors with the fire extinguishers
And also smashed a bus stored at our place that is used daily by those with learning difficulties which means no outings for them
I have been seething all day |

Very sorry to hear it Peaches. I know it's depressing to think how our society contains so many destructive people. I don't understand it and I don't know you, but from reading your messages I konw you'll do your best for the people at the centre and they'll be glad you're there for them.
