I used to be a postman and I was in the sorting office canteen one morning doing my usual crossword in The Sun as I did every day and one of the guys hollered across the room, "Give us a question then!"
So I said, "OK, 5 across, overworked postman."
He shouted back, "How many letters?"
"Fucking millions!" I answered. The room erupted. |

My postman is brill, he even signs for our registered packages that arrive when we are out and puts them in a pre-arranged place we have or in most cases posts them though the letterbox cos it usually small lingerie packages from the tinternet |

That's because he knows full well that with a registered parcel he has to return it to the depot if he can't deliver it. Posties are on 'job and knock' so try to finish as early as poss and get home. If they have to go back to the depot they usually get roped into doing more work in the sorting room. That's how it used to be so can't imagine it's changed a lot since I was a postie. |

NOPE not in my local sorting office when they have finished their round they go home any packages needing a signature for which they have left a card you can collect the next day and not the same day. |

"A postman in our area could'nt be bothered to post his mail and ended up with 70,000 letters and parcels in his house "
You'd be surprised how common that is. It happened many many times in the two years I worked for the PO. |

Still waiting for my birthday cards from September!
That said I have to big up my postie: if the porch door is ajar he never drops the letters on the mat but comes in and posts them through the letter box in the hardwood door. He also does what my daughter's seem incapable off: closing the porch door behind him! |

If they look even remotely like a Morrocan (A brummie just back from Spain with a tan for example) just insist on strip searching the feckers |

My postman is a cunt.....sorry for the offending word but he is a grade A cunt!!
Never got a couple of Xmas cards that were posted by my family, he is too lazy to walk up the upper landings and just puts the post through the ground floor flats and expects them to walk up the stairs to put the post through the letter box.
Also the close is just full off red elastic bands which i pick up most days and bin them!
He is a lazy jobsworth.
I contacted RM and all i got was that they will look into it |

They're all so daft as in the near future they'll all be without jobs as it will no longer exist - they're against modernisation and most came across as either dishonest or just plain lazy. (That is my very simplistic version - it is obviously far more complex) Z |

Lots of cases of people finding loads of un delivered mail in bins and thrown into canals etc..... shocking really |

my postman is poo, often signs for packages then leaves them down the side of the house in full view of everyone.
made a complaint about him to the Royal Mail as i think it is tantamount to fraud to sign for someones package when they are not there but all i got was thanks for your comments his line manager will speak to him..... |

spent 3 years as a postman in my little rural village area, saving up to travel a bit....loved the job and found a cup of tea and a cake waiting for me at most of the properties I delivered to.
Watched a little of the C4 programme last night and have to confess I was shocked. Our postie here is a fab fellow, if we're out he leaves packages etc in our "safe" place, and will sign for stuff too. So a Big Up to the posties as sadly they'll all be tarred with the C4 Dispatches brush after last night |

Back of Beyond |
Back in November I ordered some Cialis from a company in Canada. Still waiting for it to arrive!!!
Seriously I had the tracking number, it traced all the way from Canada to the receiving depot in Leicester. Appparently for reasons known only to the Customs and Excise, all parcels from overseas now pass thru this depot. It didn't get any further. I didn't have any comeback over my cash as it was plainly received into the UK.
I hope the posties hardon flopped when he tried to use them thats all I have to say |

There was a local postie over here that caught stealing the cash form peoples letters and keeping packages. He got some jail time but it had been going on for years. I wonder what happened to all the people that had their stuff taken and never got any of it back. |
