Saw this in another discussion and wondered what the difference is?
If anything I'd say this one is maybe both or at least blurred between the two - but that's if there is a difference? |

We would say this isn't a sex site. Reasons being you don't meet up just for sex as there is the social side to it.
But some do think it is, to quote others, instashag dot com

So it's more of a lifestyle thing that makes the distinction - that makes some sense I think.
Although if I'm honest we probably use it more for instashag type meets than socialising - and moreso still for keeping updated about events etc. |

Ultimately sex is what most people want from here,I think its your approach and what you want personally as to whether you want to call it swinging or sex
Calling it a sex site seems to offend some people but it does'nt bother me at all,personally my approach and how I find what I want is more important than what its called
I do find that the type that make assumptions such as "its a sex site why are people so fussy just fuck as thats what we're here for" don't really have much fun at all and find it a bit too much hard work to enjoy any of the benefits |

That's pretty much how I think of it. I don't think we'd call ourselves swingers as its not really a lifestyle as such for us, just a bit of fun from time to time when opportunities allow. |

well the fact its called fabswingers, not fabshaggers or fabsex tells you its clearly a swingers site, if people want to use it for other things thats upto them but primarily its a swinging site for swingers as the name says. |

if you come here, have sex and don't want anything else... i would suggest it is probably a sex site..
if you come here, have sex, like the social side and want to build friendships along the way... I would suggest it is probably a social networking/swinging site..
the only people who could tell you what they envisaged the site to be are the people who originally built it.... other than that, the people who use it can use it any way they please.... |

I use the site the best way for me. I arrange one on one meets, as well as GBs, but also attend socials and other events. So the site itself is more for swingers, but I am not a swinger. |

I suppose it's again down to how people personally define words, in this case swinging, according to the urban dictionary single people can be swingers too.
A swingers site would in my opinion be a sex site. A lot of people are looking to be actively involved in sex when they are swinging. So whilst it is a swingers site it is also a sex site as the two sort of go hand in hand.
There's an awful lot of hair splitting going on on these forums.
When and if the government ban porn sites you can bet this one will be classified as a porn site to. |

Well I'd go so far as to suggest that swingers in the traditional sense are possibly in a minority on here. I don't think the name has any real bearing - the little I (think I) know of the history is that it was originally established by a swinging couple but then ownership passed on - the name may have more of a historical relevance than a reflection of its use. |

That will be interesting - whether it's to be classed as porn or not. I'd go with the social network classification suggested earlier so be interesting to see how broadly they define porn. |

It is definitely not a sex site for me, never used the site like that as not something I require. Purely extra curriculum and the social side is enjoyable. |

Nope. There are some for whom there is a social aspect - for others, they don't want or need it and are perfectly happy with one-offs.
Its a mixture out there - all you can do is argue the semantics of whether its swinging or not!

I have been on here for 6 yrs, and during that time my preferences have changed.

have to disagree here, i think you will find its the other way, some do use it for other things, think of it as a sex site or instashag but primarily and mostly its swingers site used mostly by swingers. |

Except I've already said what I've found and it isnt what you describe. If that's how you're finding it good for you but I can assure you it differs from my experience which is that genuine couples are outnumbered by others. |

i do understand what your saying, and i understand couples are outnumbered by single men but you dont have to be a couple to be swingers, and many single men claim to be swingers aswell, its like i said, its upto people (within the rules) what they use the site for, but primarily this is a swingers site created by swingers for swingers. |

Yes I've seen good explanations from singles as to why they regard themselves as swingers.
I know the history of fabs is of having been created by swingers for swingers but not sure if that's true anymore?
Doesn't bother me - it works for us as it is. Was just interested if others made a distinction and seems in the main not really. |

I'm pretty sure swinging involves sexual promiscuity,and the swapping of partners for sex.
I'm not saying there's no social side,however having read this thread,It sounds more like a
Darby and Joan club.
It may not be instashag.com,but the most interesting activity gained from fab,better not be that bus trip to cleethorpes.   |
