The bedroom door of my little ones won't open, thankfully they aren't in here, it's like it's been locked from the inside although the door has no lock.
The handle has been working absolutely fine.
I think I may have a ghost |

Have you glossed it recently??
My mum glossed our front room door once then in an agreement with my sister she slammed it shut but the gloss hadn't dried properly. The door stuck fast. It took ages for us to get open lol |

We've got a door like that. On ours the spring that pushes the mortice in and out is week and so when you turn the handle the mortice doesn't withdraw fully.
Turn the handle fully then push the door as hard as you can.
Once you've got it open, wedge it open until you've got it sorted. |

if the latch mechanism is broken it's an easy fix. Climb a ladder to the bedroom window, smash it with a hammer or brick.(if it wasn't already open) go back down the ladder get your angle grinder, take it up the ladder into the bedroom, (watch out for broken glass), plug the grinder in and grind the latch between door and frame. then simply replace your window and pick up all the glass! If there is glass on the bedding I'd recommend you throw the lot away.
Happy to help!! |

Take a chainsaw . Cut a hole in the door big enough to get your head through . Now proceed to put your head through the said hole and say " Heeerrrees Jonnny " |

"Aren't they all twisty handles (unless it's a sliding door)?
It's just a pull down one
"
Is this what happened to your last meet,,?
Similar / same mechanism as your twisty handle, , New mechanism about £4
hunky workman,, priceless, |

"If you have access to the hinges you can take the door off that way.
Unfortunately I don't
Nothing left but taking off the frame then. "
You can simply unscrew the mechanism and take it apart.
Obviously this only helps if it's the mechanism at fault. |

If it opens towards you, push the handle down and you will be able to see if the latch is moving. It's probably not clearing enough. If it opens away from you. Get one of the kids to hold the lever down as far as possible, while you thwack the door with your shapely bum. Jobs a good un (take the latch out after) |

sounds like The bedroom tax inspectors have got The wrong address , check around The door for large screws designed to thwart access , ...its unlikely to be a ghost ...although perhaps something has fallen on The inside of The bedroom and is obstructing it ? ..perhaps a spectre in The form of an ironing board ? |
