And he told me he was dating a nice girl. This isnt the first time ive been told this by ex's
So does it mean im not? Id never say i was dating a nice guy, id assume the fact i was seeing someone would mean they were ok. So why do guys always use this word when describing their new gf's ?
I dont know id id like to be described as nice by my other half, sounds a bit boring.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
They are hardly likely to say that they are dating someone they can't stand, that she's the ugliest thing since the Ugli Fruit and in need of a personality transplant are they?
Bland phrases like nice girl just saves having to explain too much. Sometimes what appears boring is the most perfect thing ever.
I love hearing that people I have known have found their special someone. Even if it's just for a short while.

Maybe it's just his way of saying that she's not a swinger |

"sounds cruel to text anout the latest girl to an ex why? "
Surely this depends o. How difficult the break up was...if I got dumped and wasn't expecting it the last thing id want to know is what my replacement was like.. |

"sounds cruel to text anout the latest girl to an ex not is she text him first."
That's how I read it.
Plus, it could be a way of saying "I won't be fooling around with you because..."

He is probably trying to say he is with someone and it's early days. Guys are not great at saying this type of thing.
I never delete numbers like to know who this type of text is coming from lol. |

Being described as 'nice' by the other half wouldn't fill me with confidence that they actually found me that interesting at all! I think it's safe to assume someone is nice if you're dating them! |

It's a no win whatever they do though, isn't it? If they say they have met the most fantastic, beautiful woman they could ever imagine meeting you are left feeling that they are rubbing your nose in it. If they say nothing but that that they are seeing someone you could read that as that they aren't that interested in them leaving you to wonder why they are bothering. Saying they are nice is neutral enough.
I'm guilty of this with an ex but I do understand when he says that he is not comparing any of the women he sees with me. Our relationship was separate and our ongoing friendship means we still talk a lot.

"Even better when in one breath they tell you that the new lady they are with is special and it's all wonderful and than in the next try and get back in your knickers lol. "
As Fleetwood Mac say "Players only love you when they're playing". |

So if he said 'I'm seeing a girl', if I were you I would be tempted to say 'oh, what's she like?'..... And his reply would be ' she's nice ' is there a difference? |

I myself would say " She is a nice girl " I would not want to say to a X that my new lady was special because you know that is not what they want to hear xx |

Nice girls keep their knickers on until they are married .... How boring could that be!!!
Of course, in my book, nice girls are those that love some passionate fun and a real giggle. |

Nice girls can be fun...there is nothing wrong with being described as nice...I'd much rather say oh she is a nice person instead of being described as a horrible cunt lol. |

But not so it seems......
I can assure you that youd rather be told she was a nice girl than she was a dirty bitch, loved 3somes, was bi and loved sharing and was 6feet tall, blonde, size 8 and lived in lingerie wouldnt you? |

Or despite most people here being synical it could be that he means shes like you and that makes her nice it could also mean hes trying to reassure you that hes got a nice girl and not some nasty peice of work because you might be concerned that way...it could even just mean heaven forbid that shes a ...nice girl....maybe...possibly...and how do you know he doesnt refer to you as nice or even more affectionatly to other people |
