"I like them they keep the centre console neat and auto release when you put your right foot down.
some how I think you might change your mind when its mod gos wrong and it will "
Not really I've done over 100k with one in 2 cars and never had a problem but have had a manual handbrake cable snap. I did have a Morphy Richards toaster blow a fuse though so would recommend nobody ever buy a Morphy Richards product under no circumstances. |

"Does the Q5 have the same butterfly valve falt on the inlet manifold like the Q7 ?"
Sounds similar to the swirlflap problem on some 20v Alfa diesels, its an easy fix on them if you sort it before a fault occurs. |

No its diffent on the Q7 its a sticky butterfly valve in the inlet manifold none servicable have to replace the full manifold. Gen parts only £1500 plus labour. Awch |

Aaah, on the Alfa you just disconnect the motor and disable the swirlflaps...they're not required if they're left open. When they fail the shaft drops out and falls into the inlet manifold and ends up costing an arm and leg to sort out.
First thing we advise on the Alfa forums is disable the swirlflaps if you have them, blank the EGR valve, clean the MAP sensor and have the DPF deleted from the engine map (also have the EGR disabled while you're re-mapping it). 99% of all the problems are then solved... |
