Why are balls hairy if they are put on the outside of the body cavity to keep you cool?

I don't like peaches cuz of the fur....but I don't mind licking a hairy ball or two.

Cool in summer but what about winter!

Body hair is just a left over from when we all lived in caves and need it to keep warm.
