Hey all

I'm not exactly a grammar nazi but am I the only one that's turned off by poor use of the English language? People don't speak like that when you meet them, so is it pure laziness in writing?

Here and there

You're not alone. The one that I'm finding particularly annoying at the moment is the use of "was" instead of "were".

I were gonna say that two.

It's not worth getting too stressed about lack of grammar, misuse of words, poor spelling etc. In some ways it is irritating but in other ways, is it worth your time and energy?

No it doesn't bother me. It used to but now it doesn't. I concentrate on the message itself. The funniest coolest people can make typo's/ errors. Some people that spell perfectly can be idiots.

I wince and carry on reading...I am anal about it but never point out typos (apart from Evie's which are often hilarious)...as Steelheels says, anyone can make a typo - I'm still blushing over being pulled on my use of immigrated instead of emigrated a couple of days ago.

My fave autocarrot is defiantly...as in "I defiantly want a shag tonight" or "I defiantly agree that all BBWs are real women and Skinny Minnie's aren't" ***

Anyone can make a Cock up, but it takes a profile to organize one.

Most times its written on a phone so autocorrect and miss typing come into play so you have to be tolerant. I don't expect perfect grammar on a forum or social media like I do in other places. Often a mistake or missed word means it was written with an amount of Passion

Quietly goes to proof read his profile

Have seen a few profiles on here that have made me cringe. One was a long rant. No punctuation. Not a full stop or capital letter to be seen! Commas probably didn't exist in her world. Admin should give you the option to amend grammar/punctuation that offends you - now that would make me happy!

As long as legible and intelligible, I'm not too fussed. I can't read txt speak very well, and that's partly my own fault for having been lazy and not studied it.

I'm mellowing in my old age. I find a deviant mind, a great conversation and a lovely pair of breasts far more engaging these days that stressing over someones grasp of we're, were and where!

I get really frustrated with the spell check on here because it corrects me to the american spellings

The spell check is on your browser, you can change it to proper English.
