Why not make a Greek bean stew with them - fasolakia.
Mix the beens with some green beans and chopped onion and boil for 20 mins till soft, the add chopped tomatoes, garlic, oregano and a cup of extra vrigin olive oil and simmer for another 15-20 mins, until the oil is absorbed. Serve with fresh bread. |

Youngest brought a bean home from school. I put it in a small pot of compost. It grew, I put it in a bigger pot. Now has 3 or 4 nice little pods on it. Seems a shame not to use them and we have stir fries quite often. Think they'll defo go in the next 1. Just wondering if they must be boiled to death or Ok in the wok for a few minutes.
Thanks for replies and for once it's not a sexual innuendo / double entendre |

Stealing from the BBC:
Fresh broad beans are sweet and delicious pod beans with a smooth creamy texture. They only have a short natural season during the summer, so are often dried, canned or frozen to preserve them. Fresh beans are more popular than the dried variety, which tend to be quite floury. Young thin beans are eaten pods and all, but larger, older broad beans need to have the tough pods removed. Broad beans are also called fava beans, particularly in the US |

"Plant all the beans and grow more. One might climb through the clouds in which case you can climb it and kill giants. "
Pot of gold would be nice for sure or a nice gobbling goose (to nicely lower the tone of things). I'm pleasantly surprised it's actually produced beans in a pot. They were my dad's fave but I don't like them so much. So even though they're pretty easy to grow never did when I was a marred guy with a veg patch. Didn't even know young un's bean was a broad bean from school until it grew. |

Add some salt to a pan of water and bring it to the boil, drop them in for around 30 seconds and serve with butter, salt and pepper. or put them in cold water after the boiling water and serve with a mixed salad

Kidney beans are my fave. Them with gravy and onion sauce would be a meal for me.
My dad used to love broad beans with belly pork and would pour the fat from the pork all over them.
I've been a vegetarian for 25 years. Think there are so few beans on the lad's little potted one that a one off addition to a stir fry is their best destiny |
