yeps place i work has sleep ins, u basically there if needed and if woken up then ud be paid your hourly rate for however long awake for.
depends on place u work as to how much get paid too and job i suppose. |

yeps but still not same as being at home in own bed.i hated doing them..if was on a late shift from 1pm then a sleep then next day on shift 7am-4.30pm was just soooooo long and felt like not been home in ages. |

It's not so great when the sleep in turns into a waking night , working from 14 30 one day till 1130 the next 
I have done many a sleep in that has ended up being only a couple of hrs sleep so on the go for 22 hrs but no need to do sleep ins now woo hoo |

I used to work in a home for mentally ill we used to get paid £25 a night flat rate, for 8 hours, so if you slept all night you still got £25 then got paid per call if you was woken up, that was about 15 years ago tho I dare say its more than £25 a night now |

I wake up early to do it all again.. feels some weeks like im barely at home at all |

think it varies depending on place..i know council places get more money then say private places.
i think our sleep in rates about 30/35 quid but not 100% sure. but still good as not often sleep ins get woken up at our place, so easy money and saves staff leaving on a late shift only to come back in morning so saves petrol too |

think like any job had pros and cons.
i do waking nights at a residential school..aged 5-19. All with different needs and support levels.
Autism, challenging behaviour and learning difficulties.
some nights are quiet and i just sit n watch dvds..other nights..well not so quiet at some points of night. sometimes draining mentally but wouldnt do anything else as enjoy it |

I found community care work longer hours.. 7am til 2pm... back again for 4.30pm and home at 10pm..
It drained me especially with travelling all over the place with no travelling time allocated. Was always a race against the clock |
