yes praise be to the wonderous lord above that it has now been anounced the most prevalent disease ever known to man ............ a disease that threatened to encompase the planet killing more people that you could point at with a stick ................ was no more than ( QUOTE ) a bit of a nasty cold
what am i talking about ? ......... ebola virus , anthrax ........... triffid spores even ?
no the dreaded SWINE FLU !
zillions of pounds were spent on vaccines , the news channels were thumping out a warnings 24 hours a day , and untill only a few days ago TV adverts were still telling us to blow your nose , bin it , and wash your hands
people in there droves have been writing out there last will and testament , and beating a retreat to places far flung like easter island
never before have we had to cower with such trepidation and fear ............ the 7 plauges that moses brought upon the egyptians seemed like a wet afternoon in comparison to the dreaded ... SWINE FLU !
now at long last we can go back to blowing our nose with our fingers and wiping it on our sleeve

Yes, but we've not seen the back of it, viruses are constantly mutating and evolving. We've been lucky so far....
Experts actually still have their eye on Bird Flu, which everyone seems to have forgotten about, 4 people have died from it already this year, in Egypt. That'd be the same Egypt which slaughtered loads of pigs to avoid Swine Flu.
Remember that the 1918 Spanish flu, which killed more people than the Great War, infecting an estimated 1/3 of the world's population, had a bit of a false start, like this Swine Flu. First time round it affected the old and very young, the fit and healthy shrugged it off. The second wave affected those young adults and is regarded as the most deadly pandemic in human history.
There's plenty of time for Swine or Pig flu to shape up and wipe out plenty of people yet......
Sweet dreams! |
