Sorry, I really don't think it's connected with his skill as a footballer... dozens of people have affairs, in all walks of life, and the lady he was seeing is Wayne Bridge's EX partner unless I've read it wrong? The injury is therefore to JT's missus, and surely that's THEIR business? |

As a role model and earning ridiculous sums of money and a public figure, we expect that they set a good standard of behaviour.
Or he can do what the rest of us do, keep our heads down and meet like minded people and get on with it, and give up his lavish lifestyle lol. |

but you cant have someone as your captain who is potentially going to split the dressing room. it doesnt affect any of us reading it in the papers, but half of the team could be team terry and half could be team bridge. thats not going to be good for the england team as a whole. |

Wrong, it's simply pandering to the press and the tattooed fuckwit red top readers who lap this sort of crap up.
If he has done something wrong then they should stop him playing for his country ever again, as thats not happening this is symbolic bullshit.
Nice to see the lady at the centre of this has now told the press to go fuck them selves, well done Vanessa. |

Wrong decision...if the team are not mature enough to deal with a situation that arises everyday then they don't deserve their place on the team. They have a job to do...play football...therefore putting what is supposed to be their private life to one side for the 90 minutes or so they play...whether he was captain or not their will still be unrest on the team...leave in in the dressing room and get on wiv the game... |

its not as cut and dry as that though.
for example, if there was 2 people in your work and one of them slept with the other's wife or ex wife or whatever, it would split the place in 2. half siding with one and half siding with the other. its easy to say just put it to one side, but its not as easy to put into practice. |

Capello has no doubt taken all things into consideration and made a decision. Who knows it might take some of the pressure off terry and he can get on with doing what he is paid for. Yep the lad did wrong and no doubts regrets his situation. But who here hasn’t looked at a pretty lady and though about it! Bloody hell we are swingers!
The press will report news what ever ad it’s a little childish for some to point the finger at certain papers as as far as I can tell all reported the goings on well discounting things like hair and hounds etc. I think the best thing all round is for things to quieten down so the bloke can sit down with his missis and sort things out one way or another.
As for England? Well it might be a mixed blessing as the guy who should have been captain in the first place will hopefully be getting the job.

I understand what your saying but its a risk they take everyday being in the public eye...they get paid a considerable amount of money to do what a lot of people dream about...but its been blown out of all proportion by the media as usual. Anyway the decision is made...only time will tell if its right or not! x |

I think the problem is, it's not exactly his private life when it spills over into the team (England team), I believe Wayne Bridge refuses to play if Terry is in the squad, and I imagine there will be a few other team members not best pleased with Terry, certainly not wanting to look up to him as a captain when he has treated a team mate like that, so it's very possibly effected team spirit.
There are other good contenders in the England squad for the captains armband, and as a result of Terry's disloyalty to another team member then it's possibly the best action to take to pass it to another member.
The team is what's most important. |

Yes, I agree, the papers should have stayed out of it.
But I believe there has been a lot of unrest in the England camp, with many of the players not appreciating what Terry did to a fellow team mate, so it's no surprise to me that he lost it, if the team have little faith in him, he shouldn't be captain of them. |

Trouble is that logic is flawed, if he has lost the dressing room as captain, and is not well thought of by the other players the situation has simply been exacerbated now that he is a mere peon
If he has done wrong then he should be excluded from the England team in total, anything else is pure gesture politics
If he is not to be excluded then as the clear leader within the England player set up he should have been publicly censured but kept in post, this half way house situation is pure bollocks. |

By your own standards your talking bollocks then as banning him from England is only a half measure as the full measure would be to ban him from football. The next person could then say I am at half measure and ban him from the UK and so on.
The point is he has lost respect to lead or not. Its not about his playing abilities or skills. A captain LEADS his team. And if the team are not all behind him to follow then another leader is needed. Looks like flawed logic on flawed logic to me as the man can still clearly play football better than others challenging for his place but with lack confidence in his leadership skills by others then his ability to lead the team is not as good as other candidates.

England are hardly in a position to let quality players go.
Besides, if they dropped him completely then it could be considered that the manager is pandering to players demands.

Credentials, Celtic, Scotland, Man U England in that order
A happy medium for who though?
It certainly addresses the mindless public clamouring for a sacrifice but what has actually been achieved.
The best man for the job has just been sacked and considering the price of fish what the fuck has changed?
If he is still in the changing room and still divisive what the fuck has changed?
He is still going to be one of the first 3 names on the team sheet so what the fuck has changed?
My previous post proves just how daft some are as they have missed the whole thrust of it.
If John Terry has committed such a serious crime why the fuck is he still involved in football in any way shape or form?
He is still in the England team because he is a feckin outstanding player and the England management team along with the FA hope this sacking has satisfied the blood lust of the tattooed fuckwits.
If there is a serious and knowledgeable football supporter in the land who thinks that this close to the WC this is a great decision..................
For me tell Mr Bridge book your summer vacation as you are the disruptive influence and hope that JT and the boys produces the goods |

Try looking past the public, maybe he was demoted to keep the team happy, as I said, if he was to be booted completely then you would still say the same, that it's for the public, etc etc, it doesn't necessarily mean that is the case, as you said, he is a quality player, and so to stop him playing for England would be a case of cutting off the nose to spite the face.
What we do know is as usual, the press have blown it out of proportion, what we don't know for sure is the mood in the dressing room.
I also don't think Capello is weak enough to bow down to public opinion, I may be wrong, but that's my belief.
Terry needn't be hung for his 'crime', but a slap on the hand could do the trick, this could be that slap on the hand.
It's not always quite so black and white or right or wrong.
Personally I think he is the man for the job, though when Ferdinand is healthy he too is good, but Terry would be my first choice. |

Quick and simple correct decisin to sack him, wrong decision to replace him with rio. Roonery or gerrard would be bteer.
All Footballers are role models to kids, what has he set. Shag you mates wife / Girl Friend and still get £170K per week.
They are paid too much monet for kicking a ball. I'd do it for £1,000.00 per wekk or even less |

Terry has been sacrificed on the alter of the Red Top readers and the press.
His demotion will not change the feeling in the dressing room in one feckin iota.
This decision will not alter the fact that John Terry is currently the best man for the Captaincy job.
In a very perverse way and in light of this decision I hope that come SA the English public and the English press sow what they have reaped |

Lots of _umours about her by all accounts but i don't think she is quite so bad from what i have been told. Still they both know what they were doing so she can't complain. Also i heard an interesting fact and that's Mrs Terry isn't about to leave but at £7 1/2 mill a year fro on the field alone activities she may have reason to stop. |

AND... This has been blown out of all proportion because people like to buy crappy comics at the weekend! The News of the Screws should be ashamed of itself for making this more than just an affair by a married man!
Don't get me wrong... He is a cheater and after that "other thread" I think it is clear what all sane people think of that (and some insane ones too). But this is not just about JT! It is about his family... All of them! And in this time of upheaval, don't they deserve some consideration in this?
They have loads to sort out and that mucky rag has made it all but impossible to think and react as any of us would. Their twins also have to put up with all this crap!
He is a scumbag, but so are those who sensationalise it and those that buy this shite should look at themselves, because it is their money perpetuating it! |

Agree it sensationalism at its very best, however its funny that the blame is being shifted equally to everyone else, even the people who pick up a newspaper from a stand on the way to work.
We only have half the facts, doubt its just the affair though, more chance of it being down to him charging people 4 grand a pop to use his FREE Wembley v.i.p box, as well as the other stuff that will be out in the open soon enough.

Only JT and the female are to blame for the affair, but people "just picking up a newspaper" are to blame for the culture that allows papers to carry this on! It is those people who read muck like the news of the screws who are paying the paper to dig the dirt for them!
No thought is given to the aggrieved party, in this case the wife and children. They are pursued whilst on holiday and pictures of the wife in a bikini are splashed all over the front pages. FFS... She is innocent in this case!!!
I don't buy newspapers because of their attitude towards celebrity and those less fortunate!

If it screws up his mind when playing for Chelsea and that leads to them losing and handing the title to Man Uts - then I'm all for Terry being stripped of whatever to make that happen. Couldn't really give a toss who he's banging tbh, the woman he fucked (who fucked half of the Chelsea team by all accounts), nor his wife, who must be a bit of a dope to not know what her husband-with-previous is up to. As for Bridge, well he's a City player now so I hope his fookin legs fall off! |

I think wot JT has done will happen time and time again be it from superstar footballers to everyday joes like us!
so to answer the question "NO" i dnt think its fair wot happens off the pitch should have an affect on his working life!! Thats like saying if anyone of us had an affair then we should lose our jobs or be demoted! Certainly uncalled for! |

Not quite true.
If you was a supervisor and having an affair with a colleagues recent ex partner with whom the colleague has children with, now that's a little closer than if work found out you swung. |

"I think wot JT has done will happen time and time again be it from superstar footballers to everyday joes like us!
so to answer the question "NO" i dnt think its fair wot happens off the pitch should have an affect on his working life!! Thats like saying if anyone of us had an affair then we should lose our jobs or be demoted! Certainly uncalled for!"
Again, this involves another team mate, I'm not sure this is entirely about him being married, as much about pooping on a team mate. |

Big thanks To John Terry.
We now have a guy who cannot remember to attend important drugs tests (not too bright then.) Or a druggie who avoids tests (super role model) as England captain. What a disaster all round.

As I understand it, the woman in question was the EX girlfriend of the other player, so only the wife was "pooped on"
If I tried to sack someone because they had an affair, even with someone at work, I would get slaughtered!
We were outed at Mrs R's place of work. Everyone knew we were swingers and it was a hard time... But... They supported us through it all and said it was none of anyone elses business as long as our jobs were not affected.
That is the situation now we have our sexual discrimination laws, thank god! |

Yes, it is his ex, but one he has only recently separated from, and one he has children with, this may have caused a problem with other team mates, as mates don't do that in the eyes of many, I certainly wouldn't.
He was demoted not sacked, and again, this is possibly because the team have a lack of trust in him.
Swinging is not the same as what happened here. |
